Hacking Is it possible for an o3DS to have the DS side/TWL Nand of the console bricked but CTR Nand working?

Here is the thing.

A friend of mine bought a 3ds on 1.1.0-0U (I was there when he bought it secondhand).

He bought it with a flashcard, which the previous owner (non-tech father of a kid) said that he took it to a store to be updated and it stopped working recently.

Then his 3ds would read my original 3DS carts. But refuse to read his flashcard.

After i hacked it (CTRNand a9lh Luma) it still refused to see the DS cartridge.

It's not the flashcard, as it works on all of my three 3DS on the same setup. I also tested my flashcards on his console to no avail. But KH3D and Resident Evil:Revelations stilk get picked up with no problem.

Using forwarders is useless as well. It only whitescreens as if no cartridge was on the slot.

Thing is, if TWL Nand was somehow bricked. This would have happened on an unhacked 1.1.0-0U 3ds with only flashcard access. (Can you even damage the TWLNAND this way?)

Once i hacked it i updated it to 11.2 with no problem. Extended memory games like smash/super mario maker work as well, so that's not the issue.

I'm completely clueless as to how i can solve this issue and this is why i kindly ask for your help fellow tempers.

I have none to try at this moment. I'm guessing that it shouldn't considering it's not picking up his purple r4dstt, my r4i (luma enables it) or my DSTwo (which works on latest firmware).

This is why i made the disclaimer. IIRC if it was the DS/MH4U problem then extended games would nor work either. The problem is that the flashcarts do not get recognized at all.

EDIT: Okay, that's new. When i did my consoles the whitelist patch and stuff were not needed anymore since luma took care of it. When did that change? I did his 3ds on january and i don't remember that part being in the troubleshooting guide.

I tried this already. As well as cleaning the cartridge slot thoroughly.

It isn't the case with this console.

Have you tried launching it with TWL Slot-1 Launcher?

Probably wont work since it wont read the flashcart but its worth a try

In my first post i said that this doesn't work either. Whitescreens as if no cartridge was inserted.

I would say try the paper trick again then, but make the paper super thick where its nearly impossible to push both the paper and cart in at the same time
