so having a weird issue, get home from work and my wife is playing yoshis wooly world just fine, she turn the wii u off for awhile then later that night turns it back on and its stuck in a bootloop. you see cbhc saying auto booting then changes to saying system menu then black screen then back to autobooting, holding an button does nothing other than b which boots it into vwii..... what can i do to recover this? already tried recovery.elf on the root of the sd and holding L R down and b but still just loops. what can i do next?

Press the home button on your gamepad when you see CBHC autobooting. Then boot into HBL. After that just exit HBL. Whatever you do, don't mess with HaxChi until you get rid of CBHC.

I'd uninstall CBHC and then test your HaxChi install. Make sure HaxChi works then reinstall CBHC.

Our guide on Wiihacks is much more of a plug and play.
No installing of cbhc, that's why I asked.

I think cbhc is looking for the hbl in a specific directory, then when it finds nothing, it errors. I'm personally just using sysMenu

well with the kids and wife always using it id prefer to not deal with them having to launch haxchi every time the system is reset or them messing around and deleting it so i use cbhc to do all that automatically at system startup.

ya i use sysmenu but my wife must have changed a setting but all fixed now

It's not reading your SD. That's why HBL won't load.

@Jax_Ripper

The guides we recommend on here do a much better job at explaining what it is that you are actually doing. There is no "plug n play" hack for Wii U. That's why you should never follow a guide that just simply gives you a bundled file package and then gives you step by step with no explanation.

There are currently more than 3 different custom firmware options, two different entry points supported and many different ways to customize your homebrew experience. We try and educate users on what they are doing then let them make an informed decision on which hack works for their situation. There is not a "one size fits all" solution when it comes to Wii U Hacking and any guide that says that is just plain wrong.

We get users on these forums all the time begging for help because they followed a YouTube guide or one on Wiihacks and have no idea why they screwed up something or how to fix it.

Plus you wrote a "complete" Wii u softmod guide and you don't even know what CBHC is? I'd be hesitant to follow that guide (what else did you leave out) did you make a nand backup section? Nope didn't think so. That explains a lot.

You need to watch how you talked to me period.
I never said I wrote a Wii u guide, I just was interested in cbhc since I've never heard of it.
You talk about people coming here to learn , well that's what am doing by making a inquiry.
So go and belittle somebody else.
Wiihacks has the best interest in the community, so we won't be making a guide that could brick your Wii u if delete the game you used, eShop game that is.

That's a very limited view. That's like saying, "I won't be teaching my kid how to drive. Just turn on the car and listen to the radio because there's a chance that he might wreck it"

Every console hack has had an inherent risk associated with it. I really hate to burst your self righteous bubble (remember, you came here and said your guides were better trying to stir things up) but what if I told you that the Wii U softmod guide on Wii hacks isn't brick proof? With even the most basic of hacks if you don't follow directions then you can brick. That guide instructs people to use HaxChi. So if I did that and then I started messing with system files then I'm bricked. So yes, even with that guide there is risk of brick.

The only dude which is on the "high horse" is you. You're self-centered and can't take simple criticism. Either, go back to your entrusted WiiHacks or don't bother here at all. (Also your guide is outdated)

You don't know me , so mind your business. Another one trying to troll me , I thought the rules prohibited that.
I think you are self center and are just deflecting it.

why must tempers always fight??? I don't think @Kafluke was belittling your work. he was just questioning the accuracy of it. with cbhc, there's the potential for bricks if not handled correctly, so you need someone who knows all of the ins and outs to the hack. leaving out information can cause serious problems.

What work, I didn't say I created a Wii u guide, that's what they said.
All I did was make an inquiry about cbhc and mentioned that Wiihacks wouldn't make that guide cause of the brick factor, that's all.
