My friend's looking to uninstall CFW on their 3DS because they simply never use it, and aren't a huge fan of the recent ban-waves. How would they go about doing that? They're still on A9LH, never updated to B9S.

Well, if they have an original NAND backup before doing A9LH, that shoud get rid of it, but if they don't then they can make a new NAND backup and restore WITHOUT A9LH. Sorry to see your friends cfw go.

safeA9lh installer has a remove A9lh option, like @nero99 said

Make sure they didn't put the arm9loaderhax.bin in the ctr nand. You can check this with the latest FBI. If it is, copy to sd card and then delete from ctr nand. Then simply use safea9lh installed to uninstall it. Way faster than making a nand back up.

Why uninstall it? If it gets banned, it was likely to be banned anyways, uninstalling CFW just gives you the worst of both worlds, being stuck with an unmodded, banned 3DS.

This makes absolutely no sense.
  • having a CFW doesn't flag you (or my 3DS would be banned, and it isn't)
  • if they never use that 3DS, why do they care about being banned?
  • if they never use that 3DS, why do they care about unhacking it?
  • if they're flagged, it's too late, unhacking won't change anything

I don't really know what you need for unban, but unbanning is what I an talking about the whole time.
They would need a friendcodeseed which is only useable thru that of godmode9 to inject a nonbanned seed. The whole unban process does require cfw to be active to do this. If they went back to stock. They would have to find a way to get cfw back to do that if they cared about online services. A bit of a pain if they didnt just leave cfw on there in the first place.

If they did, we are informing the OP of whats going to happen if that system was already flagged with it currently, and what they would be looking at had they returned to stock.
I ques that everybody is answering differently. I am answering what I think about it. You are answering what is going to happend.
