By the way, is there a way to add thumbnails ? I saw i can download it, but i'm not sure it works with the wii u version and i feel like it will definitely not work out of the box

Thanks !
Yes, first you need to build a playlist, use RetroArch Playlist Buddy (or RA PC build), and fill the text boxes like this:
playlist_buddy_tuto.png

Where h: is your SD card.
In your case replace "bluemsx_libretro.rpx" by "snes9x_libretro.rpx"
To download thumbnails and match them with the roms you have check last box [Experimental], your roms must have the same file name as the images in this repository http://thumbnailpacks.libretro.com/

Thumbnails default path is sd:/retroarch/thumbnails to make sure set your path is correct check it in RA Wii U settings>directory

Someone knows if autoconfig for controllers is working? If so, what is the correct .cfg for the GC Adapter?

The file you posted looks fine, and the VID/PID are correct. Do you have autoconfigure enabled in the Retroarch settings? (Should be on by default).

The only difference I can see with my working file is that I left the path as "Default" and put my file in the wiiu folder under sd: (which seems to be the default in this case).

Weird, everything seems to be in order, I keep getting that yellow on-screen message "100% HID: (057E/0337) (0/0) not configured". Not a big deal really as I probably only use keyboard in pretty special cases :P, will have my GC controller as default hid, WUPC/Gamepad auto connect just fine.

EDIT: Maybe I need that secondary file you talk about? The one to detect my hid?

edit:

i managed to make a playlist of snes fullset with playlist buddy, retroarch sees it, when i try to boot a rom from it it freezes :/

can someone help me and tell me what i am doing wrong?

Thanks!
Post the content of your playlist file here in SPOILER and CODE tags. Also attach a screenshot of your windows explorer showing the content of the rom directory on SD so I might help you out.

I've got two questions on DOSBOX, mainly to @ploggy as he seems to be the pro for this. :P
  1. To play games I need to unzip them and chose the exe files directly with the "load content" option?
So I should extract every game in subfolders and create a playlist?
    Something like:
    sd:/roms/dos/Prince of Persia/prince.exe
    sd:/roms/dos/Prehistorik 2/pre2.exe
  2. Haven't tested DOSBOX through RetroArch at all. Can I control the mouse cursor with my gamepad's analog stick? Also can I make input configs per game instead of globally for DOSBOX (while I want them to stay global for systems like SNES obviously)?

First of all that question has been asked several times in the past I this thread you really should check to see if your question has already been asked before posting.

Secondly you need to run either mocha or haxchi before loading retroarch then the directories will load in less than a second.

Haxchi doesn't change anything. Still the same slow speed. Have to try mocha I guess. But this seems to fiddle too much with the system, which I really didn't want...

That shouldn't be the case, I use Haxchi + CFW, holding down B as it loads, something isn't set up right then.

In what way does mocha fiddle with the system?? You run it off your sd card no system files are modified at all so no fiddling of system files are taking place.

Thanks, will try that !

Anyway, for the other issue, can anyone play genesis games ? i keep getting dsi errors after the second time i launch anything genesis

1. Tbh I haven't tried loading Dosbox games from zip, I just assumes it had to be extracted. :P
2. If the game uses the Mouse Cursor it will be mapped to the right Analog Stick and yes, I think you can save each config per game in the "in-game" Menu options, it called Something like "Save Game Overides"? :)

the issue is that as i said, it's the snes that was broken for me in previous versions...

the only retroarch version that kinda worked without too many issues was like the first or the second one that ever came out for wii u, but it doesn't have multiplayer support so that's kind of a no go for me... It's been months since i've been trying to just play snes and genesis with two players but everytime there's always some serious issues...

I still secretly hope thet this issue is not normal and is easily fixable, because i can't believe anyone can't play genesis with it, it's seems kinda crazy so that's why i'm asking here

Like I already said it works perfectly for me on 1.6 so the person with the problem must have something wrong with their setup.
1.6 have the "All Users Controls Menu" option broken. The best recent built so far is the 13th's one. I'll upload it soon.

I'm using CFW with the C64 and it's still really slow :P perhaps (hopefully) @aliaspider or someone with emulator knowledge could help figure it out, It's a shame the Core has become compatible at the cost of playability. :(

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

update your homebrew launcher..
Working nice,thank you :)

Yes but the person I was talking too was having problems loading genesis games nothing to do with all user controls so your reply has zero to do with the answer I gave about the genesis core loading roms perfectly for me on 1.6

Probably not, if you did then your controllers wouldn't be working at all (It should only be necessary for unsupported devices).

I am getting the 'configured' message for my controller, but again I'm only using a single HID controller (in conjunction with the gamepad and pro controller). Seems to me that it's not picking up your autoconfig file for some reason.
