What do you think about Mario Odyssey from what we've seen so far, from the trailers and E3?

I actually don't know what i should think about. Partially it has some new fresh ideas i like, but partially it looks realy ugly. I realy love the Mushroom Kingdom, but SMO contains too much stuff that has nothing to do with it. Why new enemies? Where are Larry, Iggy, Wendy & Co? New Donk City also doesn't look mario like. I can't get warm with it. Maybe it makes fun to play, but no, I don't like it. :/

I personally don't like the hat-body capture mechanic, I think it strays to far from the original Mario mechanics, kinda like flood in super Mario sunshine

I hate the art style. I think it's a step back from the perfect evolution between Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy, which still blows me away today.
Also the new mechanic looks weird and unnecessary, and the 2D parts boring. If I wanna play 2D mario I'll play that, I don't need them on a 3D mario. I don't see 2D levels in Super Mario 64, and that's as close to perfection as you'll get in a fun new (at the time) game. SMO looks like they're trying too hard to innovate.

I liked 3D World. I think it should have come out after a Classic 3D Mario though, cause that's what people were waiting for at the time. And it didn't have weird looking art style and the graphic quality was amazing.

The game looks great and knew i was wise to preorder it long time ago.
From the video that i saw it looks like it will have motion controls. I hope these can be fully disable. I truly dont like them in games.

Other then all i just hope it will be a long enough game.

Definitely excited to play Mario Odyssey but am more hyped for FighterZ... not coming to the Switch.

Yeah it has been confirmed that they can be disabled, just use a pro controller or the joycon grip. Motion controls are for separate joycons only

It's funny. I remember discussing with someone over Sonic Forces, complaining about mixing 3d and 2d levels and how Nintendo doesn't really do that. Well... the doesn't seem to be the case. lol

Anyway, it is true. If they didn't add anything new, people would still complain.
