I guess they're finally starting to realize that no one wants to buy 20-year old games for the 15th time, so they're attempting to take down the most popular alternative.

All of these games have been backed up countless times, and much more accurately than most of the copies on most of these sites. They'll still be available to anyone willing to find them.
A lot of the ROMs on emuparadise were no-intro ROMs.

The information in the OP doesn't seem credible.
I was able to find Monster Generations XX just fine in the free shop.
It's very possible at the time the video/op was made the ticket was just not available for it yet.

Nintendo has always DMCAd rom sites. They've been doing it forever and if you are over 20 and a nerd/geek you should know that.

They can remove everything they want but they knew that it is not going to be extinct anyway. There are many private servers that have those things which Nintendo cannot reach to.

Right, but why wouldn't they use their own dump instead of an illegal one?
Why WOULD they is a better question honestly. No point in reinventing the wheel, investing time and money into basically replicating existing data. It takes a fair amount of time and setup to dump NES carts and a mere fraction of a second per Rom to download a copy of a verified valid Rom.

Just had a look at the lists on that site for myself, and both Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros are gone, along with others that I didn't bother checking. :P
IDK why they left Super Princess Peach though, because that's still there.

I wonder if they will put them back once the whole thing blows over and they add anti-dmcabot measures (which may mean only the main page gets indexed, not the individual game pages). After all, who is going to pay for a premium membership when most of the stuff is gone.

You're right, but they didn't do it with any other VCs and it's kinda ironic how Nintendo fights against piracy, (+ their bulslhit ap.nintendo.com site) but downloads roms instead of using their archives.

Nintendo acting like Nintendo. Nothing ever changes at the Big N.
Just another sign of them falling into irrelevance.
While piracy of ROMs is kind of an issue. ROMs and ISOs are nothing more than preservation of video game history.
Nintendo wants to remove this just because they think nobody wants to pay for their games.
Well, Nintendo, keep at it because that is what is going to happen in the long-term.
Like I said, if other companies do this, they are called out just like they should.
If Nintendo does it, they get a free pass because die-hard Nintendo fans cannot take criticism of their beloved company they worship to a fault.
I am not saying all Nintendo fans are like this. Just a tiny minority. That same tiny minority is overtly vocal about their attachment and they even go as far as threatening others even when the criticism of Nintendo is constructive.

anybody know if its going to effect 3rd party titles on nintendo consoles or just first party

Seeing Nintendo is the ones actively pursuing it...it would be first party stuff. That being said, third parties could just as easily pull the trigger on an effort like this.

Perhaps you're in the wrong forum then.
