softmod went wrong error21

Hello,
I had a buddy of mine buy one of my extra Xboxes. it still needed to be modded. I've used Ndure like i always do to mod it with a hotswap. I succeeded getting dvd-r to read and i was able to boot an all in one installer. However i'm unable to install xbmc as a dashboard and i've somehow screwed up the msdash installation and get error21 if i boot without a dvd-r inserted. I think it's because of the shadowc, since i cannot reinstall msdash trough the all in one installer disc. I'm wondering if anyone has a tip for me to help me fix this issue. I am able to boot into xbmc when i use the option boot e: dash, but its quite annoying having to wait for the all in one installer to boot.
I have tried rebuilding the hdd with xboxhd on the ndure disc but still getting error 21.

Do you have a C drive backup?

I'm affraid not. the backup was on the E-drive. since i rebuilt the hd i'm affraid it got lost. I do however have 2 other modded xboxes. I'm not able to reinstall the msdash with the all in one installer because of the shadowc.

Very stupid i know. the last xbox i did was 5 years ago and i'm a little rusty...

If you have a C drive backup and a eeprom backup you can rebuild your hdd with XBOXHDM.

a c drive backup from another xbox is hopeless i assume? i might be able to backup the eeprom since can still run burned discs.

If it still can read burned discs burn a HexEN dvd and click install dashboards.

allright ill try that after work. thanks. Is the hexen dvd different than the slayer all in one installer when it comes to installing dashboards? cause the virtualc always makes it error.

Do me a favour and upgrade to my softmod, download the "Xbox Softmodding Tool Extras Disc.iso" burn it to a DVD-R and upgrade your softmod via the "Advanced Menu:"

You can then use the disc to install XBMC 3.5.3 or if you want to install it manually, just plonk the XBMC folder in C, E or F to set it as your main dashboard.

Allright thanks guys! was able to set xbmc as dashboard. however i'm connecting the console trough comonent. and when booting with drive open it launches into the xbox live page. I'm not able to exit out of here and enable the 1080i option

There is no need to load into the MSDash, just go to the settings > system menu in XBMC and change the toggles for 480p and 720p.

Though I suggest doing what I said to do in my previous post, as your C partition seems screwed up a tad.

Is your Xbox set to NTSC?

I don't think so. it's a PAL model. i remember copying some eeprom file to my other ones ?

That's why they are greyed out. For the HD resolutions you need to change the video mode to NTSC.

Use Enigmah video change to change to NTSC.
