I got a PS4 slim for christmas. I haven't updated it. It's on 4.01. I kept it there cause I heard an exploit was coming. I haven't even played it that much since I can't access PSN or go online. It's been 6 months and at this point I don't think it's worth it. I'm not getting any enjoyment from my console. But I would hate to update it and then next month custom firmware comes out for it. What should I do?

i will put it simple for you, if you have any game that you'd love to try and play online, then by all means go ahead and update.

however , if there is no online game that interests you then stick to whatever fw you are on now, or manually update up to 4.50 (this fw is also safe i believe) so that you can play some of the newer games.

Update it.Even if a kernel exploit comes, you won't be able to get online and play new releases for awhile and by that time a improved kernel exploit that works on the latest firmware will come out anyway.

It's really stupid to not update. Use it, dude. Use it! It's not worth it as online functionality is 60% of the console.
The PS4 scene is developing extremely slow. I would use your console and if something will be released I would sell this console and buy a modded one.

If you can afford the online its worth it to update (Unless you want to buy digital games that's another reason to update.) Other than that its almost useless to update. (If you can't afford the online pay.)
Its your gift dude, do whatever you want :)

It is up to you and only you can decide for that. We have PS4 and its 2.57 and been like that for 2 years now. Don't mind waiting. I have PS3 so I am okay with PS3 jailbreak for now. :)

I'm staying on 3.55. As badly as I want to get Project Diva Colorful Tone and Future Sound, I'm willing to wait just because I can. I already wouldn't play my PS4 much anyway.

Don't do it lol. I've saw some talk on Twitter telling not to update. You're gonna regret it if you do

That's just a webkit exploit test site. You still need a way around the system itself. People are usually finding webkit exploits or those initial entry-points but you need a way of exploiting userland. Just update the console and play some pretty enjoyable games. More than likely most devs will never release an exploit because of the legal repercussions.
