Is it normal to not be able to remap buttons with Adrenaline? There seem to be limited options for even the right analog stick. I can't map individual shoulder buttons or button combinations, as I would normally. Is there a way to map controls freely? I'm using version 3.0, if that makes any difference.

PS1 games can have their buttons remapped to whatever, but PSP games can't. This is because the Vita has the same physical button layout as a PSP sans the second analog stick, so there's no reason to offer complete remapping like with PS1 games.

If you want to remap PSP buttons, try using the Macrofire PSP plugin. You can check the wololo thread here for more info: http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=116&t=48050

For PSP Games
(there's a "camera plugin" that goes in the "ux0:/pspemu/seplugins folder", it adds right analog joystick support to just under 50 games, it does work on henkaku.

(open up the prx file in a hex editor and replace your game's ID with one of the ones you find in there (should work?), for the games that are listed their game's ID, a set buttons are added to the right joystick, inputs are not swapped. Tested with one of the games listed in its game ID table, FF Type-0, it makes the d-pad really sensitive in the menu's selections. (had to disable button assignment to the right analog joystick from the psp emulator options, to fix double button presses).

What I'm trying to do specifically is remap L and R to L2 and R2, respectively, and map the remaining shoulder buttons to the right analog stick, with combinations. It seems like that was only possible with PS1 games(which is a shame), so I guess Macrofire is my best bet. I'll try it out. Thanks, guys.

Are you using a grip or something? Because if you want to assign buttons to the grip triggers, that's not possible with Macrofire because it's not a native Vita plugin, it doesn't detect the back touchpad (which those grips use to press buttons, they're not actual buttons).

But...the Vita doesn't have L2/R2? That's why I'm confused. Unless maybe you mean L3/R3? That would be the analog stick buttons lol

But those also wouldn't work since they're not on the PSP either.

EDIT: OOOOOOOH no, please ignore I forgot the PSTV was a thing. In which case you should've said so if that's what you're using :P

No, no. I'm trying to map L2/R2 to the Vita's shoulder buttons. They normally function as L1/R1 in PSP/PS1 games. I'm also trying to map the remaining shoulder buttons and the combination of the two to the right analog stick, as you can do with PS1 games. I can't do this in Adrenaline, since it's functionally a PSP game.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooh, I see, you were being extremely vague so I wasn't sure what the hell you're trying to do.

You can map all buttons in PS1 games from Adrenaline, just boot up the PS1 game and then open the official settings, it'll open the same one as a normal PS1 game. You don't open the official settings in Adrenaline itself for PS1 options.
