As far as I'm aware he's been using the same DRM as one of the original Cemu versions. There originally wasn't any but people kept leaking the Patreon version early.

AMD cards have had this issue for awhile now. I don't think this new release will fix it just yet. The shader changes are mainly to help Nvidia users and also because it's more efficient.
