i think they're called 'school shoes'
Thank you

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Some item names are different between USA/UK english. Just select your language in the dropdown menu before loading your savegame and the shoes you are looking for will be there with their name.
When i switched to UK even though my game is USA I found it under mary janes
thank you

I have a question regarding custom flags for items. Have you ever considered including a feature that lists the various customization options for "refurbished" items?

I am able to do the simple ones on my own (items with only one customization section eg. Dharma, Zen tea set, donburi, etc.) but I believe if there was an automatic/dropdown option under the custom flags section it would make it a lot easier. I am considering making an excel file with the hex values that I currently know along with their corresponding "refurbished" names/titles but because I am so busy with my job I am not sure how long such a process would take me. I am also not confident I could figure out more complex items like the zen cushion (outside of the default recolor options, eg. patterns/clothing customization) or even more complex items like many of the bed items which include 2 refurbishing options (wood color and bed cover). But if this sounds like an interesting/potential feature, I wouldn't mind attempting to build up a document with hex values/names of recolors and attempting to figure out more complex refurbish-able items' custom flags/hex values.

Do you know what's a binary mask? That will help you a lot on understanding how flags work.
Once you figure the mask pattern refurbished items use (it's just a byte=8 bits), you won't need to waste too much time on this. The best approach may be to get one of the items that has a high number of refurbishing combinations, then try all of them and write down all possible flags.

And yes, it could be added to the editor :-) But I won't add any refurbishing database, because every item has its own color/texture database and that would take a lot of time to build up from ground. A simple flag editor could be added, though.

So I remember reading about the character "Holden" not having a picture in the game, like the other special characters do. The current rumor going around among the Japanese ACNL community though, is that it does exist, but the item shows up as "???" in your inventory. Have any of you seen it? I'm sorry if this is not the proper thread to ask in.

From my testing with ram, any item with ??? as its name get automatically taken out of your inventory. There's ways to bypass that obviously but it isn't that helpful. I think if you look through the romfs you might find your answer since there can't be an item without a model also ;)

When he moved out of my town the picture he sent was a the ??? and the picture was of Hamphrey.

Marc, might I suggest adding the option to de-roach your house, for those who haven't kept up with New Leaf?

Sooo if I modify the acres, such as changing the rivers or modifying the cliffs, the grass on the former spots will always be deserted, no matter how much I try to revive them (It goes back to normal the next day). Anyway to work around this?

This hasn't happened to me and I've changed my stuff around a lot. There will always be dead spots in the same place as the original dead spots, no matter what. But those shouldn't affect the dirt that shows up after moving your map around (if you don't revive the grass of course)

Hey @marc_max thank you so much for all that you have put into this.

Question for you - I did a system transfer from a N3DS to a N3DSXL, I have the AC:NL with the Welcome Amiibo update, the save transferred over just fine with transfer, however whenever I try to launch the save manager (either the red or the purple one) from Homebrew Launcher, i get some flashes, and then it hangs on a green screen.

Any ideas? Other homebrew launch fine. I was able to export the save via JKSM, and pull the garden_plus.dat file out, will work the same way to edit it through your website, then import in the edited file?

I have this exact same problem. For me it happened since updating to 11.4 firmware with new payload on New 3DS XL. I have AL9H.

The different ACNL save editors run on svdt, which was patched by 11.4. I'd recommend switching to JVSM, which has a CIA and Homebrew format.

Don't think there's such thing as original "dead spots" in New Leaf. It's literally that wherever I changed the map via removing/modifying the river sections/ponds and the cliff borders with the acre editor, it leaves these dead spots on places that aren't in the original map. Could provide screenshots to show this?

I'm not home right now. There are dirt patches that are naturally there from the beginning. Those will never grow grass and will always revert to dead grass spots the next day if you used the revive grass. Can show photos a little later when I get home.

New items like the sanrio sets and RV villagers do not appear on the Save Editor. my console is at 9.8.0 and my cartridge is the normal one, not with the Welcome Amiibo update. do i need to update my console and get the Amiibo update? please help
