i tried installing arm9loaderhax, but i always got the secret_sector.bin not found error, even though it was in the a9lh folder. all the files were in the right place. I tried updating to 11.4 and just wait for a new hack, but i got an error saying i couldn't update. I tried recovery mode, it failed. So i formatted my 3DS, still got the secret_sector.bin error. tried updating and recovery mode again, both failed. I can't play cartridge games on it anymore. Can someone please help me? Also, reinstalling and redownloading my files also failed.

Im not entirely sure what the problem is tbh, but could you give more info about your setup? Mainly if you're on o3ds or n3ds.

o3ds be my guess as he formated while on 2.1 and console is still working.

Also, it sounds like the 2.1 transfer is possibly corrupt? More details are needed.

Your on 2.1?

Have a backup of your NAND?

If updates are failing, you will need to restore NAND via hardmod.
