Hardware Chargeing Switch with a powerbank

Hi guys. A have a powerbank to use with the Switch, but it has two outputs: one with 1A and other with 2.1A. Atm I am using the first one because I don't want to screw my Switch with it, but could I use the second one in order to charge it faster? Also, it'll be perfect if we just stand here the max imput for the NS in order to respond the same to other people with same questions. I don't know why, but I'm not being able to find it on google. It just may not be my day.

All devices are safe to charge with the higher amperage port. The charger determines the voltage, and the device determines the amperage based on the voltage it receives. The amperage on the power bank isn't what it provides, it's the maximum it can provide.

If it doesn't support USB Type C Power Delivery of 15v2a then you will be quite disappointed.

Switch will draw up to 2A at any voltage (5v,9v,15v). The 2.1A port will charge it faster, but not fast enough to charge while playing. For that you'll want a USB-PD 9v@2A or preferably 15v@2A powerbank.

It charges it while playing, yes, but not fast enought like they said. I can confirm it.
It tooks like double the usual or more to charge it full (more than 5h), so not best idea. Well, it only cost me 5€, and it has 30000mah, so I'm ok with this. Thanks guys.

And that's where you're wrong, kiddo. 5v 1.5a is enough to keep it on a steady battery levels respectively very slowly charging it while playing. I used that on a drive to vacation to play hours and hours of Zelda. No problem.

The total wattage the device can output is usually not a prominent spec in marketing materials. Remember Volts x Amps = Watts. Few if any 5V powerbanks made for phones/tablets can output 100 Watts consecutively. I have a 20k mA PNY with 4 ports (2x1mA, 2.1mA, 2.4mA) and it can come close to 100W. I have about 6 multi-port AC wall chargers in my house and the largest 6 port unit is only 60W total output.

20,000mAh to 30,000mAh is pretty much the norm for the bigger batteries.

Also you might want to contact your airline and ask them about external power supplies. I believe the 100Wh and 160Wh (insulated terminals) restriction is for "spare batteries". The external portable power pack you are looking for should be considered a "device" which there is no restriction for I believe. Make sure to tell them it's not a "spare battery" but a portable power supply with USB ports not live terminals

If I can play until the powerbank is empty, I am not dissapointed. You can easily play like 12-15 hours with a 20000mah Powerbank.

Just make sure you get 2.6 Amps output like the standard switch adapter, that way it's fast enough to charge and play without the charge decreasing (but instead, increasing it).
