Did you decide to go with the Dell?

I personally would go with another brand, if he had the choice, Dell computers...aren't the highest quality; sure they are popular, but the build quality is questionable at best, and I used to work for their call center. Lenovo, Asus, Acer, ASRock, etc, would be the way to go, IMO.

I am still deciding. Currently i am on live chat with asus. Apperently i contacted the wrong help center, the retail instead of technical. So they said they will send me a email with confirmation of the assets the system hardware has. But they re positive is TI :)
Well there's probably a version of the laptop with the 1050Ti, probably cost more. Don't forget a 128GB SSD in the mix.

ASRock doesn't make laptops :P
I think it comes down to the product you're buying.

My point still stands, Dell laptops aren't that great, they're popular, yes, but the build quality sucks big time. Acer, Asus, even HP, makes better laptops than Dell lol :P I've seen firsthand how bad Dell laptops are, their monitors are fine, and their desktops are meh, avoid them at all costs.

I have a Lenovo laptop, six years, still works and has minor cosmetic issues, but that's it.

Dell desktops are like, timeless. Maybe I'm using the wrong wording, but I love collecting dell desktops. The kind of desktops they use in library and offices. They are so nice.

Beg to differ lol
Linus liked it, I don't see why anyone else won't.

I'll show myself out, no reason for me to continue this when my opinion means nothing .

Dell laptops != Dell desktops, I'm not talking about their desktops. I've had and seen numerous laptops from Dell have higher failure rates than other brands, I worked for their tech support a while back, but hey, if people want piss poor built laptops, their money.

My laptop is old, I wouldn't recommend it for any kind of gaming. I got it in 2011, I wouldn't recommend this one, but as a brand, I recommend it. Anything prior to Dolphin, sure.

You mentioned them

So I made a mistake, I still don't like either Dell laptops or desktops, it's better to custom build and cheaper too. I worked for their tech support and they're not reliable at all. I think their computers suck, there, that's my two cents.

The GPU is only middle class and not high end, so the system could struggle to run modern PS4 quality games in high resolutions and with maximum details. But if you disable AntiAliasing, lower shadow quality and only use 1080p or lower it should be fine.

But the system should be fine for emulation, although it is not comparable to a high end desktop pc with a really fast GPU.

I have a 1050Ti desktop and I can confirm that I can play all games at 1080p from High to Ultra. The laptop version performs within 5% of that. Plus I have an i3 so your quadcore i5 or i7 would definitely hold up well.

I think he meant AAA titles

In 1080p, the GPU can struggle to deliver constant 30FPS according to some benchmarks but it depends on the details of the GPU (memory type, clock rates, chip types, cooling efficiency), which can widely differ from vendor to vendor http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1050-Notebook.178614.0.html (see Mass Effect Andromeda benchmarks).

But if you turn AA off and the the resolution of shadows and effects down, everything is fine, at least in 1080p. For 4K gaming the GPU is too slow.

So currently i'm waiting email for confirmation of the hardware specs, Why the TI is important i dunno but if it helps keep the system relevant longer in future then i suppose is okay. Now about the brand discussion, is dell really that bad or not, is asus really that bad or not?

Unless someone has a better idea of a 17 inch screen, high performance GTX card, with ram and storage that doesn't cost more than $1100 then tell me now.:grog:

I have dell laptop too, been using it for almost 2 years and so far no problems.
Currently on live chat support now with the vendor, they are telling me is confirmed 1050 TI :)
The official website and all other say it's not ti, so i don't know. If true then it's great but even if not, the 1050 normal isn't bad.

The Sager fits the bill perfectly.
