hi, need tip on configuring 3rd button for playing sega MD.

i've fiddled with the RGUI under MD/genesis core but cant get 3rd button to work. need tips e.g. is it better to configure it in RA's input options or core controller options, etc. I tried configuring select button as C under controller options and for some reason it messed up the game start function and i couldn't even get in the game (had to reset setting by reflashing).

i'm using famicom mini's builtin controls.

The problem is there are just multiple ways to use cores and that makes it hard to
Got it FIXED. I just had to reinstall retroarch.. got a copy from a user here but for some reason his didn't work (was a folder vs a file)..

retroarch.hmod (folder with contents) vs retroarch.hmod (file)

I assume he packed his own version or something?

Like i said, you have hmod files and hmod folders, the folders you can more tweak like the files. The one i send you works fine for me. Just install again because it seem that it whas installed incorrectly. ;)

Anybody get N64 games to run smoothly or save-state? I'm running the Glupen64 core, the games run fine until 2 minutes in then usually crash back to the menu.

That's strange since u modded it before. When you plug your NES into your PC are u using the USB cable that came with the NES Classic? Your computer should recognize when you plug the cable into your PC..

Yeah I used the official cable?

Where does one find the 'extra cores' that aren't in the retro arch made my pcm?

Looking for mame2000 core.

Have been on the retroarch-clover github but cant find them anywhere. I have the mame2003 core, but I can't recall where I got it from...haha!

EDIT: Disregard. Found them on PCM's GitHub. Guess they were taken down for a second.

I just setup Metal Slug 1 and 2 (MAME2003) and it appears to run great. I created 2 Neo Geo folders (NG1 and NG2) and put the Metal Slugs in different folders along with 1 other game each.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Im not sure how to configure the classic wii pad for snes games ie Street Fighter 2 any help would be appreciated.

Same question I have. I setup MAME2003 yesterday and wanted to play Outrun and I somehow got button 1 and 2 set (using Left and Right trigger) by hitting "Y" on the Wii classic, then a little symbol "<" appeared and I was able to push the Right/Left trigger to set it.

I couldn't seem to set button 3 and button 4 though.. I wanted to set them to the Wii Y and the Wii X buttons respectively. How do I do that? Any guides on how to
map the buttons using a Wii classic?

You're using the MAME2003 core for Metal Slug? I'm using Neo Geo core, and they run fine.

I'm using MAME2003 hmod and the neogeo BIOS. I think the Neo Geo Bios is FOR the MAME2003 core. Does anyone know what the relationship the BIOS (neogeo.zip) had to the core (MAME2003)? Whyd oy ou need both?

I tried Metal Slug using this setup and it works.. but I'm confused how it runs through the MAME2003 and neogeo BIOS.

So after vigorous testing =D, finally. I have 2 receivers, they work perfectly fine. Basically I did what I posted just earlier.

All Patches can be found in their 8Bitdo forums, they are stickied in each forum.

Beta Patches
Patch for Receiver Direct link: http://forum.8bitdo.com/forum.php?mod=attachment&aid=NTMxfGYxNjBlMTQ0fDE0ODgxMDI4NTN8MHwxNDA0
Patch for Controllers Direct link: FC30/NES30/SFC30/SNES30 Controllers http://forum.8bitdo.com/forum.php?mod=attachment&aid=NTMyfDI4MTAwNmUzfDE0ODgwMTgzNjV8MHwxMTc5

Easy steps after patching:
1. Plug receiver in player 1 port.
2. Plug wired controller in player 2 port.
3. Turn on NES Classic
4. For the 1st 8bitdo device, hold start to begin pairing mode. The receiver should also be blinking blue LED.
5. When paired should be solid blue on each.
6. Go to a game that uses RetroArch, once game is loaded hit (default Start+Select to get into RetroArch menu) on the 8bitdo controller.
7. On wired controller in player 2 port, navigate the menu: Settings > Input > Input User 1 Binds.
8. Go down to the user bind for directional, tap A on controller 2 to allow you to enter new binding, then on 8bitdo controller tap the corresponding direction.
9. Follow steps until all directionals are set on controller 1.
10. Confirm now with 8Bitdo device that you can move up and down through the menu.
*Steps below are only needed if you have 2 receivers like myself
11. Unplug 2nd controller and plug in 2nd receiver and pair that with 2nd controller.
12. Once paired, this time use Controller 1 to go back 1 menu to Input Menu, this time select Input User 2 Binds.
13. Follow steps from 8 to 10.
14. Presto, both controllers are now functional, enjoy your gaming
*PS I am not 100% sure if you need to do these steps if you re-flash due to the Retroarch configs get wiped. (If I am wrong that could be only if you re-flash RetroArch itself, if you just add games it should not affect it.)

As I stated I have one SNES30 and one SFC30, the reason I bought one of each is so I can differentiate between which one is Player 1 or Player 2 on the receiver, instead of labelling. Both cost the same when I bought it so.

I hope this helps with setting the controls up with it. If you need more help after this let me know =D Completed like 4 arcade games with some friends today, was fun :yay:

Ok cool. I have bought the 8bitdo Retro Receiver for NES Classic and the 8bitdo SFC30 controller. Updated both with the firmware aboven. paired the controller with succes and set al controller settings in the RetroArch menu.
Seems like everything is working fine except Super Mario World SNES... there is a bit of delay when I press a button (lag). Is there anything I can do to minimize it?

How did you set the controller settings in the RA menu? What's the process of mapping a button (lets say I want button 1 mapped to button "Y" on my Wii classic)
