so i got a wolf link bin and edited as mentioned above .. i want to write that to a blank nfc tag .. do i have to register the tag in TP before i edit it or can i write the edited version and use it in BotW .. only have 2 nfc-tags and want to be sure :) thanks

You have to register the amiibo and play cave of shadows once and get the save before you edit its bin file then after you edit it you can put it on the tag

Could you, for pure academic reasons of course, point me cryptically in their direction without breaking board rules?
I'm interested in those dumps too...
Cryptically mentioning where they came from typically gets a pass. Asking for that cryptic info, albeit politely, is likely to raise eyebrows. Still, it's better than CYRNFR V PNA UNM GUR JNERMMMMMM!

Hello! I Have dumped the AMIIBO of BOTW, but the files are not on 540 bites but 570 or so. If i use tagmo, will this work? The file size is different and i am scare to loose my last tag on this try! Thanks for the help guys!

It's 572 actually... Any info about it fitting on a 540 or if they will work fittibg it in a 888 one?

I dont have enough tags to test. I heard about amiibiz but i though it was only for amiiqo? If you have more info share it. I am looking to it myself

Just want to thank everyone for all the info on how to make Amiibo with NTAG.

I silently watched over this thread amongst others and received some NTAG215 yesterday. Working great! Happy daughter at home ^_^

Anyone got. the botw amiibos to work? Im always getting Source uid does Not Match the Target whenever I try to Write to tag using latest tagmo

Dunno if HiddenRambler reads this thread but his last version of TagMo still crashes on my Note 3 Android 5.0

have to use the version people link to all the time to be able to scan and write tags.

I just want to say thanks to everyone on the thread.
I just got myself a switch and wanted to play with these amiibo's
I have a few questions maybe some one can answer.

1.) I see NTAG215S are read/write , but they do have a lock and once you enable the lock you can not right back to the card.
My question is do we lock the NTAG215S once we have made a amiibo ?
If we lock the NTAG215S that means 1 per NTAG215S correct ?

2.) I have like (3) phones - samsung galaxy s2 ( rooted / rommed ) , samsung galaxy s6 , samsung galaxy s7 ( rooted / rommed )
Will one of these phones work with read/write of the NTAG215S ? , I would think atleast 1 would be good.

3.) I have grabbed all the files i need and loaded it on my SG7 and it seems to work but i do not have any NTAG215S to test , I was going to order maybe today and test this out.

4.) what are the steps 1 needs to do to make a amiibo , are there any premade ones (LINK) or ones that work with the new zelda game for the switch some one can point me to.

5.) anything else that I should be reading and re reading ?

6.) do I need to buy a retail amiibo for any reason before starting ?

7.) instead of buying NTAG215S is there any progress on a android nfc tag emu ?

Does the NTAG216 work with this? looks like the only difference is size but wanted to check before I order... looks like all other are shipped from outside of US.

No. There is one person here who says they wrote a program that made it work, but decided not to release it. ??

If you want to read his remarks and those of the other people who have asked the same question in this thread, you can find all those by putting NTAG216 in the box at the top of the page and check the option to only search this thread.

So would NTAG215s still work with BoTW amiibos if they're 572 bytes and not 540 bytes in size? There didn't really seem to be a definite answer by anyone so far :/

I can explain the 572B thing.

Without getting into to much detail, basically, someone out there figured out that amiibo NTAGs have some extra visible data on them at the end of the tag that might be of use eventually, so Amiibitz now dumps that, and handles that somewhat properly. What that data is precisely, isn't actually all that important right now so I'll leave that up for interpretation.

Anyhow, all amiibo dumped with Amiibitz now dump to this size, including old ones.

If you want to write them to NTAG215s just remove the last 32 bytes (0x20 in hex) from the amiibo with a hex editor and it should write to the NTAG215s fine with Tagmo and any other outdated program that works with 540 byte amiibo just fine.

That is the block you need to delete for reference.
After deleting that block you can safely save the binary, and it should come out to be 540 Bytes just like any other amiibo bin.

I used a similar method to get a working save onto a second Wolf Link. I scanned the Amiibo and completed the first part of the Cave of Shadows. Upon completion, I saved the data to the Amiibo. I used the forked version of TagMo to scan the Amiibo, edit the data, and rewrite the modified data back to the Amiibo. The fork I used is located at https://github.com/possi/TagMo/releases
