For the small minority of people that end up paying for both versions of the game I was wondering how plausible it would be to just pay for the DLC once and it can be downloaded on the Wii U and the Switch? Assuming both consoles have the same Nintendo ID synced up.

If it ends up that it only works to one platform then I'm not gonna pay twice, it would be a nice gesture for those that supported Nintendo when they needed it most.

Wont work.
Sony or ms never did this with there older system.
Nintendo would be a fool to do this.

Actually Microsoft did do this for a limited time in NA with Xb360 and Xbone with xbox one launch titles. You could upgrade to xbox one titles at walmart for 10 bucks. Also when you bought some of the launch titles DLC through the 360 dash for the 360 version, you received a code for the xbox one version if your account was logged onto a xbox one. The deal only lasted a year and since most of the xbox one launch titles where xbox 360 and ps3 ports, it didn't get much attention.
