Even two-player games are a gimmick now? Shieeet...
You know what I mean, the joycon 2 players shit.
That shit xD
They basically added four buttons instead of the D-pad JUST for that, so that you can use the left joycon as an additional controller.
But to be honest, I would much rather sacrifice a second controller than a fully functional D-pad

I can understand it, but I know I'm gonna want a pro controller handy just for the bigger buttons if nothing else, and so I'll also have a D-pad available. Short of that, I give it two years after launch before they start releasing different designs for joy cons and probably docks too, at which point there will probably be joy cons with a D-pad.

To be fair the appearance of the Nintendo Branded Switch Pro isn't anything special to write home about. It looks like burnt or charred wood piece. Ugly. I hope the skins help or other colors besides the black become available.

Not everybody's cup of tea, certainly, but black is pretty much the "neutral" color for controllers, so if you don't like it, that kind of rules out all standard console controllers.

Wired only? What year is it? 2002?

I hope it is.
I still prefer wired. No need to have excessive 2.4GHz swirling about youur house (and your children, as the case may be).

Lots of studies to show bad long-term health effects, for one. Also less lag and chance for intereference with other devices that already use wi-fi/bluetooth. The 2.4GHz frequencies are congested these days. They are also so pervasive that people think these microwaves pounding on us 24/7 are perfectly safe. I say we don't need to add more. I'd still love to have a modern console where I can disable wireless tech completely (that means no 2.4GHz coming from the console at all, so no controllers that can be used to wake up the console, no background polling, etc.). I think it's a travesty wi-fi is allowed in schools.

One of the reasons I love the old consoles is I can play wired for hours. I always buy wired controllers when I can, in preference to wireless. That said, I can't say whether this controller is good or not. I haven't tried it.

Feel free to form your own conclusions. Some places in the world have banned wifi in schools and nurseries on the basis of the studies out there. Some of the more progressive, forward-thinking nations that have looked at the scientific studies, that is. Wi-fi/bluetooth is in a place now where smoking was decades ago. The silly debates. The biggest financial backers funding the 'it's perfectly safe' studies. In other words, lots of money to be made. The paid-off 'researchers'. As always, you do your own research & form your own conclusions & take your own precautions (or not).

So in order to defend Hori you go and attack Nintendo's official controller. That's actually funny. It's like the Antifas. :rofl2:

Tell that to the people bashing the Switch >.>
For those that have tried the Switch, Joy-Con and the Pro Controller are more than entitled to their opinion and criticising it if they so wish to.

The only thing I have against the Switch are the Joy-Cons not having a real d-pad, the analogue stick isn't too movable and too small for my hands. And no analogue triggers. Nintendo's Switch Pro Controller fixes most of those issues for me. ^_^

They didn't screw up anything, Nintendo is moving itself as far as possible from the Wii-brand and that is a brilliant idea so no one will be asking "Is this an add-on for the Wii?". :P

You can start your research with a simple search. I am not here to spoonfeed. As I said, some countries are already limiting wi-fi exposure. A bit half-arsed so far if you ask me. You can start with terms like:
wi-fi dangers study

Plenty of studies have been done so far. If you have trouble finding some, then you are not looking.

This is why the FCC has blocked all router manufacturers giving access to custom firmware installs on their routers (messing around with output levels etc) around june/july last year?

This is dumb. It kills the portability of the Console.....
So get the wireless Nintendo pro controller or just use joy cons. The Hori pro controller seems like a good (inexpensive) pick-up for local multiplayer at home if nothing else.
