Hi guys.
I softmoded my Wii a year or more ago. And it was at the point where I had tested Xenoblade running off an SD card. It worked through the start screen and would get to the point of the first tutorial battle before freezing. I never knew if this was a problem with the rom or how I had done things. I didn't get a chance to test any other game before shelving the project.
Now I would like to get Wii and GC games running off a USB. Not the SD card.
I turned on my Wii to see what I had done to it and I am lost.
I have homebrew. Configurable USB Loader. Neogama. USB Loader GX. And Wii Flow on my channels screen. I believe they are just forwarders to what is on the SD. But I am so clueless to what WADS and Forwarders are.
I would prefer to just have the channels I need. The look of all those channels on the screen looks terrible. Do I need to use a Wad Manager to remove them. Or would just deleting there files off the SD card get rid of them.
So my question I guess, is how do I get the Wii and GC roms running. I put an .iso on an SD card and tried it in the different channels. The only one that let me look at my USB was Configurable USB Loader. But when I tried to use it, it said i need to open my WBFS partition. I removed the USB and formatted it to WBFS with WBFS manager. And tried to put the Smash Melee .iso onto it. But it wouldn't do anything.
I used Dios Mios Tool Box to convert the .iso to a different .iso. Which is what I saw some dude doing on Youtube. And that .iso wouldn't copy over either. Oh, right. I did just get Wii Back Up Manager. I read it does what WBFS Manager does but nicer. I haven't tried to move the .iso files over with this program yet. A side question. Does the USB have to be formatted to WBFS. I was hoping I could just use a FAT32 USB with a bunch of .iso's. Instead of all the converting business.
So I am lost in the process. Everything is a mess. And I don't know how to clean it up and just play my games.
I found Nintendont that I will try. Do I use it in conjunction with a USB loader. Or will it just do its own thing. This whole process is frustrating.
Thanks if anybody can help. Or at least tell me how to check what I have or haven't done.
Edit: Forgot to add my Wii doesn't go online.
