hi all great forum. I have one issue. installed haxchi fine. but using config file to use fw.img at startup does not work. only way I can use haxchi is to load from Wii menu. any ideas?
Changing default=something in the config file (and reinstalling Haxchi) just changes what runs when you don't press any buttons after you manually start Haxchi.
If you want something to run when you turn on your WiiU, that's CBHC.

Why even using fw.img? It's outdated. Use Mocha CFW or built in Haxchi CFW instead.

Okay, can I boot into IOSU from SD? or will i always need to run haxchi from the wii menu?
You would either need Haxchi or Internet Browser exploit to do anything on this console (including launching CFW).
You could only use CBHC to "let the console automatically do the tap on Haxchi while booting".

ah okay, I have installed haxchi using DS VC. So have the title in wii menu. I can also run homebrew locally after i run haxchi from wii menu (no brower exploit needed now)
I just wanted to play DLC and a few VC games. I own most of the wii u games on disc anyway.
I guess for DLC i would then, run haxchi from wii menu, install the DLC / VC via WUP installer? and play the DLC/VC everytime after I run haxchi?

exactly

Thanks, how have you got your wii u setup?
One thing, I own mario kart 8 and have all DLC. But for the kids im going to setup a HDD like it did on my wii.
Say I download MK8, update and the DLC - with WUP i know you install one item at a time.
I install MK8 to HDD, do i do the same with the game update and DLC to HDD? or does that need to go onto the main NAND?

No just download game + updates + DLCs and install them at once (by checking them all) with WUP installer y mod or WUP installer GX 2 directly to USB.
Just be sure to launch a CFW or at least signature patches before installing and before every launch.

Ah and because you asked:
I did nothing special but buying Yoshi Touch & Go to sacrifice it in order to have Haxchi on my home screen.
I also installed 4 games that I like to play online (MK8 as well) to sysNAND. In most cases I only tap Haxchi once which launches sigpatches2sysmenu (as a "real" CFW needs longer) and start playing MK8.
Since my USB drive is formatted in FAT32 and contains all my Wii and GameCube games I haven't ever tried to install to USB. I'm waiting for Dimok's Mocha CFW update which will support FAT32 even for Wii U games before I start with this. However almost everyone from gbatemp is installing stuff (including DLCs and so on) to USB so you will be fine.

Is there a way to install another homebrew(s) inside the haxchi patch?
I mean install the .elf(s) within the haxchi and load it from itself not needing the SD after the installation.
For example I have used the "hbl2hbc.elf" pressing the B button and would like to do it even with the SD Card out of the Wii U console because I have to swap various SD cards with Wii Games, GC Games, etc and I often forget to pick the correct SD.

I do not intend to use rednand for now (sysmenu haxchi better). Can I delete the "system config tools" app? Installed on external hard drive

I believe that Haxchi uses substantially the same launching code as the old browser hack to run .elf files, so it would be subject to the same limitations, like expecting the path to be on SD.

For now, you'll have to make sure that you've copied your wiiu\apps directory to all of your FAT32 SD cards.

Can i please ask from a NOOB .
Can someone please explain how i install this and load it?
I am currently on 5.5.1 wii u (E).
When i load my wii u does it load some type of menu where i can select my games and play.
Thanks

I have a question. This has probably been answered before. But I don´t want to search all the pages. I am using HAXCHI 2.0 and everything is working great with Wii U USB Helper. But there are few games that do not exist for my EUR Wii U. I read somewhere, that it is ok to install other region versions when using HAXCHI. BUT now this is my really important question: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I INSTALL A USA VERSION GAME AND START IT WHEN NOT HAVING HAXCHI ACTIVATED?? This could happen by accident. Would this brick my console or mess something up?

No it just won't start. No risk.

What's the best way to launch rednand from haxchi?

a=wiiu/apps/mocha/mocha.elf
adding this to the config file?

Or anything like x=rednand works?
