The very best entrypoint available. See http://plailect.github.io/Guide for a comprehensive step by step guide. You can get a 3DS up to 10.7 and still be able to follow the guide (higher too but then you need a second, already hacked console as well).

Hi there, thanks for this info. What version of rx tools do you need to play pokemon? Is it 2.6? Is it as simple as replacing the .dat file to upgrade the version I'm on? Appreciate any advice!

Just saying but my pokemon moon cart didn't work with rxtools (i got it yesterday), no idea about the digital version but i guess it's the same thing.

I was getting "Card Game was removed".
It works with Luma3DS. (i'll probably install a9lh too in the next days)

The carts actually don't work, there have been several reports to back this up.
Stop clinging to a dead cfw and update. You are only holding yourself behind.

After looking through the rxtools menu's a long time ago, I pressed one option (think it was in the same menu with something related to friend codes) and after rebooting, my 3ds had a black screen and blue light. I can access recovery mode and updated all the way from 7.0 to 11.2, but it still has the same issue. I don't know the options that were in the menu, so I do not know the option I used to brick my 3DS. Also, this happened before I got to backing up my NAND. Could anyone post a list of menu options of rxtools? It might shed some light on what caused the issue.

I don't know, but you should never use them, even when it was in development back in the day, I never trusted those options.
You should switch to Luma3DS and for your 3DS 'maintainance' use Decrypt9WIP.

Switch to Luma. Ditch RxTools.

there is no point for rxtools as the creator left the project so it is now obsolete I personally liked rxtools but now luma3ds beats it by a long fold get luma3ds quick

I liked rxTools aswell a lot back in the day, without any other options tbh.
But since the newer games that came out and newer games has yet to come, there's a huge chance all those games won't work on rxTools. Also an 11.3/12.0 update and it might be over entirely.
I don't know why this thread is megabumped, but probably because users search for 3DS CFW on Google and they stumble upon rxTools.
All rxTools related stuff has to be deleted from the Google search results and YouTube, otherwise we still see rxTools threads in 2030.

The post has been resumed because someone, some posts above, needs help to recover frim a brick, so please stop arguing and let help him.

I have 4 3ds and one of them, not used anymore from my son, is yet with rx.

Tomorrow evening, if no one answer before, I'll post a list of all the menu options.

Also that's 3rd or even 4th case I've encountered with this problem. One of them (same symptoms: black screen with the recovery mode and sleep mode working) was related to legit unhacked 3DS that started behaving like this after legit DS game cart being inserted. So this could definitely shed some light if those have something in common. Or maybe just NAND extdata got fucked up (for example, I know a case of brick using an app to set up 300 play coins corrupting the extdata).
Was it rxTools 3.0 (with the blue graphical menu)? I assume it was but just to be sure
