Did Soundhax save your nooby butt?

No, I'm aware hardmod / dsiware is required, been trying to explain that to people as well, but it's like speaking to a brick wall.
I know. The instant something comes out with the ending being "hax" people go insane and won't stop asking "when's the free downgrade" "can I downgrade" "HEY GUYS FREE DOWNGRADE INCOMING SIGHAX NOT CLICKBAIT"

While fasthax is available on Github, there is no known ARM9 exploit found yet. And this is bound to take... months before one is found. So if I were you, I'd stay on firmware 11.2 and not update (just like with every time anyone is using homebrew), 'cause soundhax could potentially be patched in the next firmware update. But then, I'm sure an exploit would be found in Nintendo 3DS Photo app, 'cause that app certainly would have an exploit similar to Nintendo 3DS Sound app. So the exploit for the future 11.3, 11.4 or 11.5 (depending on how long it takes to make it), will be called "photohax".

And that... will be a glimpse of the next step to take if soundhax is patched in the next firmware update. ^^

So umm fasthax should only allow installation of legit cias right? If so then does that mean my ticket dream is dead... :(
Nothing is ever fallproof. Even the PlayStation 4 has a numerous amounts of exploits in it, so too does it's predecessor. Same thing applies for our web browsers that we use on our own PCs. The only things that will force everyone to change their strategy completely on exploits, is newer hardware, because of how they operate, but there will always exploits, no matter what. It's no different with the Nintendo 3DS.

But yeah, unfortunately fasthax can't install cias that are without a signature, since the signature checking switches (and ARM9 Kernel access keys) are now protected by the new encryption keys in the NAND. But don't worry, just as long as you stay on your current firmware and never update, you'll be fine. ^^ Eventually an exploit will be found in the ARM9 Kernel. Once it is found, then people will either be able to create Homebrew that takes advantage of the exploit by using those extra decryption keys or downgrade their 3DS so they can use it for older Homebrew apps.

Just wait a few days at the most. Something is coming, I promise.

Guys I meant: will there be any chance that fasthax will allow installation of signed tickets???

Ever since fbi added slow hax support it no longer tries to use svchax so fasthax should be compatible with it, probably?
Umm.. I guess ... whatever you were trying to say. :P

Anyway, just for fun I got FBI working with fasthax. Of course, new3ds 11.2 and unconfirmed reports of non-US compatibility. The success rate seems to be affected positively by having your wifi on. Legit cia's only.

Uuuh... what do and how do.

Mind telling us (mainly the noobs)

*Myself included even though I've been around the hacking scene just want to take precautions.* OF HOW to do this? I would certainly appreciate it :creep:

Edit: Do we just take the contents of the zip, extract them, and place it inside the 3DS File in our SD cards, or is there another step?

Do you know if this will work on n3ds11.0?

Well if it supposedly works on 11.2 I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work on a lower firmware?
If you watched the 33c3 video you would have seen the race attack on The timer function is vulnerable on every version of the 3ds, it will work any firm to this date

Thats riiiiight, sorry mate, I haven't slept so that completely flew over my head.
Well, it works! I just need to make sure it's a simple drag and drop before I do anything though.

Could you make a version without the n3ds limitation? I wanna try if having a proper return could make it work.

There's only about 30 or so of them and playing them is often region locked. Ask around if you don't know what they are.
