Wow, would have never expected this would get a reply, thanks! I have normal Wiimotes and they work fine. I have an older Wiimote Plus which also works fine. And here I have this latest one, where you can press Sync without taking the battery cover off and this doesn't work. Will check the product ID.

I recently did some testing with a Mario-themed Wiimote+ that I got from Wal-Mart just a few days ago. Model RVL-036

Homebrew Channel menu - Works as normal.

FCE Ultra GX, Genesis Plus GX, SNES9X GX, and VBA GX - work as normal with full Classic Controller support.

Nintendont - works fully with Classic Controller. Note that if a Gamecube Controller is plugged into GC slot 1, the Wiimote will be set as Player 2.

USB Loader GX - Doesn't work in menu, works perfectly in game. A Gamecube Controller can be used to navigate the menu and launch games if it's set to list mode.

that's really peculiar. My wiimote is also RVL-036 and I've used it in USBLGX numerous times. Granted, I haven't booted USBLGX in a while, if there's been an update in the past ~4 months, maybe it broke 036 compatibility.

Well, I haven't even attempted to update it since I started using it. I just use the version that was linked in the tutorial video that I learned to install all my homebrew stuff in the first place.

According to it's Homebrew Channel menu, it's v1.0 r866, but I usually launch it from it's own channel, so that might not be accurate.

The latest HBC is 1.1.2 so yours might be out of date. It doesn't have a separate channel, though. It is a channel.

As for Wii Remote + it depends on what version of libogc the program was compiled with. Older versions didn't know about WM+, middle ones don't know about multiple versions of them.

Third-party (non-Nintendo) ones are hit-or-miss.

Turns out my version of USB Loader GX was just horribly out of date. I manually updated it from 1.0 to 3.0 and now my new Wiimote works perfectly in it. Updating also seem to have fixed the random crashing that sometimes happens when starting it up.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150

Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
