OCDM - Mario Maker 3DS course manager

OCDM stands for Online Course Database Manager

Features*:
  • import and export courses, both** 3DS and WiiU
  • cryptofix saves (if the game marked your save as "corrupted")
    • Note: this will overwrite the LockoutID in your courses, not in the save file, so please be fair and don't reupload others' courses :)
  • make/apply save snapshots (exports all files which are used in the save)
    • Note: please format your save data before restoring your save otherwise the game could mark your save as "corrupted", and this one is not cryptofixable
  • browse SMMDB
    • download courses
    • discontinued

*: these features are in the latest build at the time of editing this post, so functionality in the public build could differ
**: due to differences in the 3DS and the WiiU version, importing a converted course file on a foreign platform could crash the game on loading the course

I uploaded the CIA to, (don't know if I can say the name of the site so) *that homebrew titlekey site*. Guess i'll wait until it uploads.
For what it's worth, the TitleDB.com site, aka the homebrew title database is entirely fine to mention even in polite company. I don't allow the listing of any proprietary content or encryption keys. It's specifically the unrelated but similar looking site with "keys" in the name that deals in piracy that can't be linked.

Not only that but placed in an invisible hidden block? I wonder how. Was it patched in the first two updates or not, or was it a hacker?
I don't think he meant it was inside the hidden block; I think he meant there's a hidden block within the course map which represents the goal.

I completely agree. They are probably grateful that this is being developed with no effort on the part of their development team and no load on their servers.

And if they're not, they should be :P
I was just thinking, fancy not having online capabilities with Super Mario Maker 3DS? I'm struggling to understand why Nintendo have done that  that's like having a pizza without cheese! Unless there thinking, major DLC here we come!!!

So... The goal can be moved?

This was done on the WiiU version (because shit, we can't yet recalculate the hashes on the 3DS version ), and yes, the goal pole was removed, and it was hacked into the hidden block :P

I'm 100% sure this would work on the 3DS version as well :P

But back on topic, I'm still REing MM3D's code.bin, and if I find the code that checks/emits signature checks, I might make a code.bin patcher, so I could implement features which require recalculating the hashes, because this way I can actually *test* the features, and I'll have more time to RE the hashing algorythm. But this'll prolly take a few more days, or even 1-2 weeks. Let's hope Ninty is a derp again, and I find the hashing algorythm :P

That's... weird.

I think the generally accepted theory is that there are many more people with 3DSs than Wii Us, and the servers wouldn't be able to handle the strain of all those copies of SMM uploading and downloading courses.

And what would happen if I were to opensoos it before I have fully RE'd the file formats? I would just get nagged even more, that the not-yet-implemented features don't work (because shit, they aren't implemented),
You released a partially functioning build, but can't release the source because the level formats aren't completely RE'd. Makes no sense wtf, reminds me of people can't release source code until it's all complete. No... if anythign that's a reason to not release a build. And you've already done that much.

Yet, everyone with a 3DS can upload and download images and data from Miiverse all day long without issue. I don't think that theory holds up.

It makes perfect sense: he wants to do it himself without help. What's wrong with that?

I think SMM would generate a lot more traffic. Many courses could be downloaded in a single play session on just one device compared to sporadic MiiVerse postings. Well, who knows the reason anyway. It doesn't really matter.
