So now I have it installed, can I simply replace the TGA'a in the installer with my own and reinstall it as a custom HBL channel?

I assume the TGA's arent hashed or checked as Fix94 seems to have made his own.... I just dont want to brick....

Many thanks in advance!

Yeah, you are safe to do that. You are not messing with system NAND files, so it's okay. Worst case scenario, you just delete it and re-download the e-shop DS title again.

I just updated mine before as I did the old WUPclient method previously and with this I just added the HBL "bootSound.btsnd" to the Haxchi folder along with other different ones.

Thank you,

Do you happen to have the Wii style HBC tga's and that other btsnd to hand please?

Also can this be reconfigured to homebrew_launcher.rpx instead of elf?

EDIT: finally found it: https://gbatemp.net/threads/content...stem-verification.447688/page-45#post-6827558

@thaikhoa thank you :)

Nice, yet another 3 hours of mine wasted to something being released as an easy installer the next day! If I had a penny for every time this happened... I'd have, maybe, two pennies? :P
By the way, since this seemingly replaces the title, if we had previously edited meta.xml to change the title to "Homebrew Launcher" (as per this guide), would it change that to "Haxchi"? Because, well, having "Haxchi" named as "Homebrew Launcher" just... bothers me a bit...

EDIT: Ah, apparently, it does not replace "Homebrew Launcher". I suppose it would replace it if it were something like "Brain Age", or some other default text string. I'll just have to replace it myself, then. :)

EDIT2: Apparently, it does replace them, but my Wii U just isn't showing the changes? Ah well...

I apologize as I am VERY new to Haxchi: is it possible to run HBL 2.0 with RPX support (for retroarch specifically) from haxchi? Or do I need to load HLB 1.4, then HBL 2.0 then Retroarch? I'm very confused as It states RPX is not available through Haxchi only elf but RPX loading needs new payload for it to work on HBL....

@thaikhoa thank you :)

Not sure about the RPX version, as I have not tried looking into that

Here is the files I used, (boot screen/sound at 0.39 in this video)

Btw, you will need to edit the Meta.XML file, and change the bits were it says "haxchi" to your own preference. Use FTP everywhere with IOSUhax to access the file.

Sweet, pretty much same idea, same sound, just different images.

I read that FIX94 said Haxchi is elf loader primarily, so cannot load RPX, I just tried load 1.4HBL elf then 2.0 HBL rpx but after this the hbl version says 1.4..... so....

EDIT:

"New payloads (a.k.a. MP4 files on browser exploit) are required for it to be able to load RPX files. Old payloads are still compatible but will only work with ELF files."

This leads me to think its not possible without browser entry point... for now... though IDK if haxchi even loads a payload, or how to update/replace it....

What I have done, is install Haxchi and then installed Dimok's 2.0 RPX HBL channel, since that is it's own channel and relies on no hooks to Mii Maker, etc and has it's own privileges. Since using the shortcut to boot ISOUhax with "A" it's not a real annoyance for now to do once in order to use the RPX version.

I guess since I prefer loadiine anyway, I'll just make a SD card for RPX cores until haxchi+HBL 2.0 get integrated.

Haxchi > HBL 1.4 > Loadiine (latest) > Load any RPX ... right?

lol, I know the feeling. I did the older wupclient method manually editing CMD, prompts, etc, and now this happens:) It was the same with A9LH, the very old old way. I get mad when people still complain about it when they don't the half it back when it was new. I suppose it's how the scene progresses:)

Is there a way I could still run the original game, or is it gone after editing the rom.zip?
EDIT: I did the thing, it worked. :)

Yeah, I put off downgrading to 9.2.0 for days because I was afraid I was going to brick my console. I've since installed A9LH on about 5 other 3DS's. :)
Just like the old days of jailbreaking - with tethered BootROM exploits and custom IPSWs. But Apple has since taken the fun out of it. :/

You could set up coldboothax to boot a CFW fw.img on startup, then have the Homebrew Launcher RPX set up with the game reinstalled as normal. It's incredibly unstable, though, and definitely not recommended.

Latest HBL version support rpx files, only Haxchi hack method (as contrary to HBL hack browser method) is able to load rpx files a.k.a. big files (because browser hack file size restrictions). Haxchi 2.0 should be able to load rpx files too I guess (?)

the .elf loading feature in haxchi works by using the internal sd load which has .elf compatibility, it does not have .rpx compatibility though, that is added by the homebrew launcher itself, on top of that to load actual channel rpx files like this with content you will need to properly load the entire title anyways using the OS functions, it would not have content access otherwise.

EDIT2: Apparently, it does replace them, but my Wii U just isn't showing the changes? Ah well...
The wiiu caches title ids and actual game titles, so it will only show up the changed title after shutting down the console and turning it back on again.

There is no difference between the HBL 1.4 and 2.0 when it comes to features, the only difference is that the .elf loads via haxchi/browser exploit and the .rpx loads via its own system channel when signature patches are disabled. Both versions can load both .elf and .rpx files just fine after that, no need for anything like loadiine or whatever.

I SPECIFICALLY designed this v2.0 so you never have to edit the meta.xml manually, all you have to do is change the title it'll set in "title.txt".
