Nah don't update them. Steelhax only works on the base (1.0) game

why not just add to the list "10.7 is downgradable already"?
10.7 is downgradeable already but some people can't access homebrew launch through the browser, or are you saying I should just chuck that in the op so people aren't confused?

yeah just mention in the OP that 10.7 doesn't need to wait to downgrade, they can do it already

My bad, read the thread totally wrong.
How do I SSH my 3ds to my router exactly?

You probably should describe the type 3DS you have, the firmware it's on, and the basic hardware setup the 3DS is using to access the internet. Because I used this post today to get browserhax to work on my 10.7 N3DS, using just my desktop PC to change the settings on my router. No phones, no hotspot stuff, just an old school PC and the modem/router from my ISP.

This is what's going on, in more layman's terms (as far as I understand it). Right now when you try to open the browser, the 3DS is accessing commtest.nintendowifi.com before anything else, and throwing up the update nag. If you're on a Windows PC, you can use PuTTY to block that communication and successfully proceed with browserhax. Once you've accomplished what is possible, depending on your firmware version, you need to remove the block so your 3DS (and any other Ninty hardware in your home) can communicate with Nintendo again.

fyi i have a new 3ds on 11.0.0-33u its brand new and i use ninjahax to get into homebrew all i had to do was put the ctr-httpwn from here https://github.com/Plailect/ctr-httpwn/releases/tag/v1.0.1c to my sd card and run it once it was done i exit into homebrew then i press start and then X to go to 3ds menu do not reboot just hit X and then o to eshop it should work

Hmm...I'm running into a problem here with browserhax - no matter what I do (changing system time, clearing browser data, format, different URLs, etc.), I still get the update nag when I launch the browser. Any ideas? This is an N3DS on 11.0.0.33U.

Another point I found confusing was the ropbin payload. In this guide, it says to rename it to browserhax_hblauncher_ropbin_payload.bin and put it in the root of the SD card. But following Plailect's guide, it says the rename to ropbin to menuhaxmanager_input_payload.bin and put it in the menuhax folder on the SD card.

Which one is correct?

Thanks!

EDIT:

Didn't figure out the answer to the ropbin question, so did both. Figured (hoped?) it didn't matter, since I wasn't planning to install menuhax anyways. Just wanted to do this so that I could download LoE without updating.

Got past the nag - had to switch to an android hotspot, since my router didn't seem to fully implement the SSH commands, even though it didn't give any errors.

However, had follow this link to get it to work (https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/c...essfully_use_browserhax_on_the_first/dag6lbj/). For me though, I had 2 android hotspots, instead of 1 hotspot, 1 router.

But, then had to also switch to this version vs. the original post (https://github.com/Plailect/ctr-httpwn/releases/tag/v1.0.1c) for ctr-httpwn, since the one in the guide didn't work for me.

Hope this helps others!
