In this thread I'm trying to give some tips 'bout CFW and recommend you what CFW you should choose.
CFW "explained":
- RedCFW(dimok version with sign patched redNAND)
- WupCFW(FIX94 version with only sign patches)
RedCFW
Why I should choose RedCFW?
So... this CFW offers an extra-layer of protection.
What does this mean?
With this extra-layer you can mess around with system files (system.xml too).
You can backup it and restore it.
It's a temp solution for developers/noobs.
What I can do?
You can install sysConfigTool to install things faster.
You can install titles with not valid tickets.
You can use coldboothax (not tested, don't try).
Use Wupclient.
In fact you can do what do you want without risk.
What I can't do?
Using vWii (RedNAND "don't dump that part").
Update system (Why?
Wii U store the version every time you update.
If the system version is lower than stored system version you'll brick.
RedNAND 5.5.1 - SysNAND 5.3.2
Bricked SysNAND
SysNAND 5.5.1 - RedNAND 5.3.2
Bricked RedNAND)
Format RedNAND (I don't know why, but don't try)
Who should choose this?
Developers and noobs (for noobs only if someone installs it for them )
Why? Cause devs needs a lot of protection for testing their software.
This RedNAND it's like a "sandbox" they can use.
Why for noobs? Cause they can do mistakes with wupinstaller and brick.

WupCFW
Why I should choose WupCFW?
This CFW only patches sign on sysNAND level.
So you don't need to dump your NAND, the file is only 14 MB
What I can do?
You can install titles with not valid tickets.
You can use vWii.
You can update the system (as long the system doesn't patch the bug).
Use Wupclient.
What I can't do?
Install sysConfigTool (DON'T TRY you will brick).
Mess up with system files.
Install coldboothax (for now)
Who should choose this?
Medium user that doesn't need a layer of protection.
Users without a 64GB SD (or 16GB)
Users who just want to install VC and DLC on sysNAND
