Hmm, well this definitely leads credence as to why people shouldn't be attempting this without considering the consequences.

I was under the assumption that the home menu still was just there because I was thinking the homemenu was getting loaded from somewhere. But thinking about it, I'm guessing an infinite loop of nothing would happen.

But instead you could cold boot into hbl and you could find a way out I suppose. Just not CFWbooter.

ikr go to system settings>standby options>enable both quick start and standby functions BOOM coldboothax sans a dead sysNAND

Dude you should be the mascot for the forgotten quick start menu, it actually beats coldboothax in boot time speed and still lets you access sysNAND and is brick free #NEXOCUBE4QUICKSTART
I don't understand... if run a game from quick start menu, then it doesn't need the sig.patches for the wupinstalled games that would normally need or what??? I'm genuinely confused...

if you use coldboothax (edit of system.xml) to load a VC game at boot, and you don't have the fw.bin on your SD card (or no SD card inserted), what will happen? it just loads sysnand?
if not, there's no way to load sysNAND at boot and bypass the custom fw.bin
Or maybe you have to put the official unpatched fw.bin to load sysNAND?
fw.img not bin (that has been bothering me everytime you post it)
I think the app won't run as it looks for fw.img on your sd card. The unpatched won't work as the system gets hardcoded to run what the homemenu is which is the ds vc.

When you say fw.bin is that referencing a NAND backup? Like the bin files created with those partition backup programs? or is it synonymous with the fw.img?

the problem with coldboothax is that it replaces the homemenu with whatever you put in title id or so I've heard anyway so even booting clean won't fix that

This is why there is a need for an earlier exploit in the boot process?

Whenever the system.xml is called it needs to have an alternative. Because I am guessing that is the only time the title id for the menu is being opened? other than the home button I guess? There is a way of jsut having a simplified HBL though right? That has you click a button to open the menu from the title ID?

it's a mistake from my part, I used "bin" instead of "img", sorry.
I noticed after I posted, wasn't sure how to acknowledge I had seen your reply to the other guy afterwards and figured I would just let it play out because it was a minor thing.

I thought that maybe .bin was a way of referencing a nand file oppose to the img thing.

Is there any way to use the Quick Launch menu with sigpatched sysNAND? If I set it on, the Wii U doesn't turn off properly. It blinks orange and I'm forced to shut it down by pressing the Power button for a few seconds.

Yeah you have to hard shutdown to avoid that but its much better than killing your sysNAND :D

Can you bypass the "press the power button 4 seconds etc." message if you use the Quick Launch menu to boot directly into IOSUhax?

EXACTLY this literally the best coldboothax atm
Its basically the same as coldbooting. Just one extra button press.

If anything, the quick launcher could have some priiloader-esque settings added. But thats not even necessary.
