Hi,
I tried to downgrade my old 3dsXL on fw 11.2, no arm9 installed or hacks, trough the fieldrunners method today, everything went wel ( did sys transfer, injected hacked save) till i restored my nand backup with 10.4 in it. I had patched the original Nand dump with autofirm (the one for old3ds). When i restored the Modified nand it looked fine but when i exited out of the Nand dump/restore menu (fieldrunners > scores) i just got a blue screen with a bootrom error and i keep getting this error when i turn my device on. What are my options? What can i try to fix this? Is a hardmod the best option or is there something else that could fix this?

The FIRM partitions are probably corrupt, which means you can't fix it without a hardmod.

Unfortunately so.
Did you use AutoFIRM for 11.2?
I used the one in the description of this tutorial video

I'm sure i have used the old3ds one, didn't know there were versions of those autofirm files but i couldn't find other versions anywhere so i assumed that the autofirm i used was for 11.0,11.1 and 11.2

there is your mistake, following a youtube video that might have outdated, corrupt, or files you shouldn't trust.

You must use an AutoFIRM that matches your firmware version. You used 11.0 AutoFIRM on an 11.2 NAND and you bricked, which is entirely expected.

There should be a release thread for 11.2 AutoFIRM somewhere, but it won't do much good now.

If you follow this guide you might have better luck: https://plailect.github.io/Guide/dsiware-downgrade... Flare Games has not updated his video and you use 11.2 AutoFIRM. I am sorry that your device bricked. :(
Thanks, i've followed that guide because earlier guides of flare games were working perfectly fine for me and i've never had any issues. Will use plailect's guide in the future.

While using that old Autofirm, app automatically made backup of your nand. If you still have it, you can restore your 3ds. Other option is to buy used motherboard. They are around $50 on aliexpress.

Yes you can, but be really careful about soldering. Maybe wire glue will be easier. Think about it, what could be the easiest way for you.

Before hard modding, try to access recovery menu, if it fails try to boot without SD card. I used autofirmware for 11.0 on 11.1 and didn't bricked my device. It didn't work simply.

The Same Thing Happened to me when watching this tut. two weeks ago. Had to send in my 3ds for a replacement. And luckily did cause it was a capture card 3ds. I've stopped trusting yt tut after that

Wouldn't it just not work if you use the wrong one?
Well i don't know why but it did start to restore the NAND so i thought everything was going well till i pressed exit and directly got a bootrom error. Going to get my 3ds hardmodded and downgraded tomorrow so no big deal anymore i guess :)

Yep, @DarkFlare69 could you please put a warning for 11.2/11.1(?) users to your video to prevent anymore bricks by people thinking thisll work on 11.2
