So i was out from this thread a while. I just saw some released games from King Cerelepe in another website, all dumped from disc with .tik.
You guys know how to dump all the discs? Any update about that?

you can extract all the install files and the .tik from a .wud using the latest discu, however that's still subject to the availability of .wuds and if they're not out there then you can't do it.

Can someone explain to me why all of a sudden there is homebrew to install games to USB when for years it didn't work on the Wii U? did something just happen that made this possible?

People figured out that you can install games with disc tickets to HDD and they'll work fine without a disc.

Question: What happens if you mistakenly install the same game 2 times in HDD USB ...? I just checked. I did not see any apparent change, the game runs smoothly. But I want to confirm with you. What do you think?

it overwrites what you installed the first time.

REPORT ON MOVING INSTALLED GAMES TO LARGER HDD.

- 320GB USB drive full
- Powered off wiiU and unplugged 320gb.
- Rebooted WiiU
- Plugged in new 750gb drive
- WiiU asks to format new drive. Formatted
- Plugged in original 320GB (now both the 750 and the 320 and hooked into the WiiU via USB)
- WiiU immediately says 2 drives are detected and to go to the data management screen
- Select all the games on the 320GB usb and hit copy
- Select the new 750GB as the target.
- Wait 18 hours. Not kidding. Took 18 hours for the WiiU to copy over 300gb worth of stuff.
- Power off WiiU
- Unplug 320gb drive leaving the 750GB plugged in
- Power on WiiU
- All games are where they were, but now data management shows much more free space!

That's how you properly upgrade the USB HDD.

If it happened justo once, then it was a puntual issue. You shouldn't worry

I reordered the first post, added categories to make it easier to find an information.
thanks to @Hking0036 for some better wording :)
I added more info on tickets (DLC, eshop, etc.)

I hope users will ask less questions already answered. (yeah, I know...)

You should also add to the summary and instructions step 2. :
You don't need to modify a ticket for an update.

I am using a 2TB and i got 779GB With 134 WiiU Games USA - that is not with Updates yet LOL
You should go bigger

I added the wiiU version on the first post.
works on 5.5.1, and previous version too.
previous version could have issues with newer games relying on new firmware features (like new electronic manual format)

Ok got 5.5.1 so what is the best loader? Quite confused.
There's no "loader".
the best loader is the console itself.

if you use this thread's method, then you are installing games "officially" to your console.
the console runs the game. there's no loader, no homebrew to launch the game.

Of course, as there's no loader, there's also no options and features, like TCPGecko, gamepad mod, non legit DLC, multi savegame, game mods, multi-language, region free, etc.
This method works best, but has no improvement that homebrew could provide.
Loadiine is not dead, when users will want more than just games they will go back to loadiine.

what users want is just "easy way to put games on their drive".
when (probably) there will be a way to write to a WiiU HDD on PC, OR launch games from FAT32 USB drives, users will switch again.
