I quite like this Edition, so I want to get one. If having IPS screen then it's a big plus. There is no info about screen type and serial number yet so, no point exchange or return and may end up without one when they're sold out the next few days (as special editions usually do).

Did anyone pre-order through Amazon and picked the 2 day shipping option? As a prime member I did, it just said it was shipped, and the expected delivery date somehow went from today to Monday, the 31st.

That sucks. Mine was shipped out at the end of Wednesday by Best Buy! And I don't have paid account with Best Buy! So basically you paid for Amazon to ship at a later date than supposed release date!

Hope you get IPS to compensate for that.

I'll be getting mine through gamestop tomorrow. It's a gift, though, so I won't be able to check until their birthday (nov 18th). I'll try and check back then to report.

It's a big difference in viewing angles, and a bit of a difference in colour accuracy. It's definitely the better quality screen. The best way to tell the difference is to put them side by side. It's harder to describe than it is to show. It's better, it's just not game-changing.

I don't really mind myself. However as other said: on the New 3DS XL the quality different is more noticeable even on slightly off angle.

It's not something I'll lose sleep over, but if having IPS panel top is great bonus for this edition. Posted the info in case someone who haven't bought it can gamble on different serial number in case they may get lucky with an IPS on
