Hardware So, how much time do you give to this console until it gets hacked?

If my sources are correct, the Wii took practically no time as well the NDS to be pirated, with things such as the Homebrew Loader and R4 flashcards, for the 3DS and the WiiU it took much longer though, for the 3DS it took 2 years for its first flashcard and another year for an actual CFW, and Wii U took 3 years for things like Loadiine to appear, taking all this into account, how much in "average" do you give this console until is totally hacked?.

I will play safe and say, 3 years, just like the Wii U, I'm sure Nintendo will have something this time to better protects their consoles, but who knows, it might be sooner or later, and how much do you think this console'll last without hacks?.

Wii U got hacked in about 2 years, but it was private and a "technical hack" (they just used it to dump stuff, no proper homebrew was made and the hack wasn't released).
Since the Switch will most likely be more secure, I give it 3 years just for that.
Wii U took until 2015 to get a public, somewhat useful hack, so 3 years. I give Switch 4 then.

Easily 4 or more years for anything useful. However, I don't doubt a flashcard like item being available within two years or so--but expect it to be expensive.

If the Switch is as or more secure as the 3DS, the only flashcard I see happening within 2 years is a Sky3DS type thing.

I was actually thinking the exact same thing. I see it being MORE secure, so even a Sky3DS may not last long.

20 plus years as it will be SEGA Saturn level (probably 4 years but I feel pessimistic for no reason)

As far as I know, no major security advancements have been made in a while. I'd say it'll be 3 or so years, of course, but depending on how dedicated the person developing the exploit is, the amount of time could vary.

Also depends on how lazy Nintendo is when securing it.

It's gonna double as home console and handheld console, potentially replacing the 3DS,
so I expect it to be quite a while.

Nintendo has most likely learned from their previous mistakes and will most likely beef up security as well update the second an exploit goes public.

Probably 4 yrs. I really don't care if it does in it's lifespan, I'll buy like I did for WIIU. Hacking the system is only really good for preservation of the games anyway.
