CFW and a9lh can get the things nintendo prohibits (downgrade, unsign application install, NAND access, etc) plus whatever the 3ds has in the first place.

Non CFW/a9lh 3ds has only what nintendo wants.

Most are scared to do homebrew anyway or update their 3ds whenever an update pops up . Personally al9h is better than cow but more tedious to install

I think that if the majority of 3DS users were on CFW then the 3DS would be completely dead. No developers are going to support a system where most of the users are downloading the games for nothing.

I see it gaining more supporters after nintendo officially stops updates and switches support completely to the NX. It'll be a static target then, rather than a moving one, and people will feel more comfortable messing with theirs.

But it would still take 1 week for a dsi downgrade system transfer.
No. The week wait is if you want to transfer Fieldrunners back to the original 3ds.
For most people dsiware downgrade is use to downgrade their new 3ds with their old one or downgrade one of their friends. Both don't need to transfer back.

This is true. One of my friends specifically said he won't hack his 2ds until the 3ds is dead

Most people are scared to do it for the simple fact that it is called hacking. Others think they will get banned. Some think that they won't be able to use their device after hacking it. Most have no clue hacking even exist.

I know a lot more non-cfw users than cfw users.

Mostly my non-cfw users say that they want "stock" firmware because it's less of a hassle to deal with, and knowing that updates to the firmware won't screw you over (remember people freaking out over 11.1 and it killing exploits temporarily?). My best friend runs an o3DS with stock firmware because she doesn't want to lose her saved games (JK SM can only do so much).

I have another friend running stock firmware just for Pokemon. He's the type that says "Don't mess with me consoles."

And I have two IRL friends who are running Luma3DS and a9lh. Both I ended up helping them with. I had acquired a cheap aqua o3DS in my spare time, and had the exploit games from my own downgrade and A9LH installation. All it took was a cheap 64 gb sd card and some time to put A9LH onto her system. I sold her the lot with an official charger for $200. My other friend acquired a n3DS XL and softbricked it during the downgrade and had to borrow my "for sale" n3DS to do a DSiWare downgrade.

Both didn't have time to fiddle with the A9LH installation and both didn't have the tools needed - eg. a PowerSaves + OoT.

But think about it, no dev is going to develop for a system that only has piracy on it.

What's the chance of bricking your console anyways... lol. I've never bricked any of my consoles and I've hacked each and every one I owned. Usually devs don't release anything till it's stable.

well from what i see alot of bricks come from people using the new 3ds update on the old 3ds and the old 3ds update on the new 3ds
