Hi! Is it possible to do this with the latest PS3 update or is it completely impossible? I just want to copy my copy protected data to an SD card so that I will always have my saves (and maybe even edit them a little). My PS3 is not hacked in any way.

you can put it on a stick,, but when you put the save back to the ps3 it doesn't work :'(

Never knew you could put it on a usb stick. If that really is true, is there any way to use Bruteforce to get rid of the copy protection and make it work?

If I could hack my PS3, couldn't I make it so my saves work? I do have them backed up on PS+, but I'd like a physical save too. I never understood why developers thought copy protected saves were a good idea. Considering how pretty much all PS3 saves can be backed up to SD cards, what makes developers such as From Software think it's OK to make it impossible to back up their saves physically? Why don't they realize that save data is pretty much the most important thing in gaming?

they did it so the people can't gt the trophys of a other save,, (ps: I don't know if you can hack it, but you can search around the web ;) )

And this is why I hate the trophy concept lol.

I guess I'll try looking around the web more, but I could have sworn I've read that it's impossible to hack a PS3 with the latest update.

You can use Aldostools Bruteforce SaveData to rebuild the save as your own!

I got a f*ckton of trophys in SoulCalibur 5 that way. Maybe all of them.
You have to play some for the trophys to trigger tho sometimes

You do have to have CFW tho

I don't know exactly what he's trying to do, but using Bruteforce to decrypt, modify, and re-encrypt a save doesn't require CFW for the save to be useable.

Does this have to do with copy protected saves (Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dragon Age Origins, etc.)? Is there any way at all I could edit them even with the latest PS3 update so that I can save them to an SD card so I don't have to depend on PS+? These three games alone take up almost all the space I have.

That's good you don't have games like that. The companies who made the games I listed made it so it's impossible to copy the saves to their games on SD cards. The only way to back them up is by using PS+... which can only hold 1 GB of save data.

I seriously don't know what they were thinking when they did this.

And I can't use Bruteforce because I can't even get the saves to my computer :(

True, but it does have a usb slot. I have an SD card reader, so I put the SD card in the device and then plug it into the usb slot.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
