You can always install them with WUP Installer.
Might be a matter of getting them from NUS and installing them manually.
Although I'm not sure how the Wii U will react to such a thing, has anyone tried that before?

I only have games that have online 'functions' and well, I'm getting nothing. Most likely as they need the updates applied (almost certain this is the case with Tokyo Mirage Sessions). A bit ago some guy posted on the boards about Smash and I asked him to report back about online in DDD (he never did), but, maybe they will make an appearance in this thread? heh.

(Edit - To be honest though. How many online games exist that don't require an update to play them now? I'd be surprised if there were any).

Wup installer cannot help? 3DS handles out of region patches like a champ... But then again Dunno does what have anything to do with the checks or not.

3DS Has sigpatches, WiiU don't.
For this, we need sigpatches (through IOSu)

I have the following results :

Games tested on Wiiu pal 5.5.1E :
Mario Kart 8 (NTSC-U) : Black screen
New Super Mario Bros + New Super Luigi Bros (NTSC-U) : Black screen.

Games tested on my Wiiu NTSC-U 5.5.1U :
Mario Kart 8 ( PAL ) : Black screen, did play intro sound. Crashed when I pressed a button.
Mario Maker ( PAL ) : Black screen.
Game & Wario ( PAL ) : Black screen
New Super Luigi Bros ( PAL ) : White screen en black screen splashing continuously.

I think there are a few ones that don"t have updates.
Also has anyone ever tried to install an out of region update to see it if works or have a negative effect?

This is freaking amazing, considering its technically not a violation of the NDA I'm under to play out of region games, that ive legally purchased, I'd like to confirm that my Japanese version of mk8 is working just fine (except for online stuff) with both DDD and this new loader based on the DDD bug . My console is US NTSC on firmware 5.5.1

@VinsCool that region free chip has a release date now: March of Never except in a parallel universe where what I wasvintending to do would actually work, and I wasn't now licensed by Nintendo and able to release unofficial products like that lol.

Now back on topic, any chance this loader forces video modes (automatically as there doesn't appear to be any sort of config menu) for those of us with a prehistoric TV like myself? If not, is that a planned feature? I'm hw BC I'm wondering if I could play pal region games this way....

So, is this working for some people ? (Because i don't mean to be rude but, i'm not sure that launching a title stored on the disc reader will work, you need to do more research about it, because this seems too easy to work :/)
