Homebrew Can You Factory Reset A System With A9LH?

I'm looking to get rid of my Majoras Mask system and would like to reset it to remove my data. If I reset it what do I need to do to get it back to it's A9LH state? Its already on 11.0. Do I just need to use a homebrew entrypoint and install FBI again? (currently its injected into H&S)

You can infact factory restore the system. If you already injected FBI into the Health & Safety app(like you should have) then it will still be there after a system restore.

Sure!
Either grab a pre-A9LH setup and restore it with decrypt9WIP without keeping a9lh or downgrade to 9.2 and run safea9lhinstaller to remove a9lh.
To get back to a9lh run safea9lhinstaller with your otp.bin and proper payloads

No, a system format won't remove a9lh.
If you system format, just inject FBI again with hourglass9 and you're done

So in theory I should just be able to install the FBI CIA with a cia installer with a homebrew entrypoint..right?

I have cubic ninja so that would be 100x easier

You should inject FBI with Hourglass9 via an arm9loaderhax.bin(start_Hour9.bin in payloads folder) rather than with a CIA installer

just use the tinyformat.cia and delete the "Nintendo 3DS" folder.

May I ask why? I havn't had to install FBI in a very long time..

you can't just run FBI or something through *hax/homebrew launcher and try to re-install FBI as CIA through that, since the 3dsx won't automatically have kernel access just because you're using custom firmware. you already have it injected though, so it doesn't matter.

Don't do it, then its just that much more of a pain in the ass to update FBI if its injected. If anything, inject it once install the CIA and then inject the stock HS.app back

no, installing it separately is better, because it's easier to update (and isn't dirty). in fact Plailect's guide tells you how to re-inject "hs.app" after installing FBI separately. injection is intended to be temporary. this is just a special case.

You can infact factory restore the system. If you already injected FBI into the Health & Safety app(like you should have) then it will still be there after a system restore.

Personally, after I inject FBI in to hs, I install DevMenu and install stock H&S.

I then use DevMenu to install FBI (SD Card version), and DevMenu survives formats, but I also have a clean stock Health and Safety app.
