Well as the title says i want to upgrade my pc with a budget of £400, so heres the specs.

so far i have decided on;
hyper evo 212 cooler +extra fan

what i need is a modular psu, ivy bridge cpu upgrade and case recomendation.

thanks for all the help so far!

------------op--------------------
mobo: gigabyte z77-d3h
cpu: i5 3570k oc@ 4ghz
cpu cooler: standard intel cooler
psu: generic - dont kill me!
ram: 8gb 2x4gb stcks @1600mhz
graphics: geforce gtx 970
sound: sound blaster x-fi
case: some junk generic one
case fans: 0 - open case atm
hdd: i have a total of 1.75tb, 1tb, 500gb and 250gb
display: 23" dell - I really want a 3 screen setup!

so what could i do to enhance my pc, what would you guys recommend?
i am happy with my 970 card and cpu for now.

Most of that seems pretty decent so I'd probably go for something along the lines of adding a decent SSD for speed improvements. Either that or a new monitor/better CPU cooler.

Most of your PC Seems fine, also, you just said that you are ok with your CPU and GPU, so lol, theres nothing much you can upgrade, you can go for 3x monitor stup, and a Noctua Cooling, as ewll for a fancy ass case with some nice fans. and a spare SSD

https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-D1...ie=UTF8&qid=1473177503&sr=8-1&keywords=Noctua

or a cooler master V8 : https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Maste...=UTF8&qid=1473177522&sr=1-8&keywords=CPU+Case

Also, if you want to keep the "Open Case" but a little more fancy, you can grab this: https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-...=UTF8&qid=1473177522&sr=1-3&keywords=CPU+Case

i don't have a clue what monitors are worth going for, i have 3 hdmi cables with both a active dp adapter and a dvi adapter.
what case would you recommend, thinking about it a cpu such as i7 3770k with the cooler and modular psu will be perfect so im going to edit the op.

The digital backbone of the system (CPU, RAM, GPU, motherboard) are all fine and don't need upgrading.
What I would upgrade is putting a SSD in there, replacing the cooler with an aftermarket cooler, replacing the PSU with something branded (I don't think modular is necessary but they're not expensive to find) like from Corsair, and replace the case with something half way decent. Corsair, NZXT, Antec, Coolermaster, etc... they all make good cases. Choose the one you like the looks of within your budget.

For monitors, the best in my opinion are Dell Ultrasharps, however that would take up half your budget for one.

whats the difference and pros\cons between a normal ssd and a Msata sdd board?
is there a difference in speed or performance?

i've decided to upgrade to an i7 3770k and gtx1060 and coolmaster watercooler, to match the blue n black theme and i found a decent psu with braided cables

----edit----
i decided to extend my budget to £650

THANK YOU ALL :)

from what i understand the i7 are not that "great" for gamming, they got improved graphics, but you will not use it since we all got a dedicated gpu and hate intel graphics
you can't go with a newer generation i5?

he is gonna have to get a new mobo then and ram if moving to skylake

I7 3770K IS IVY BRIDGE

i dont plan on going for a newer gen of cpu/ram untill the gtx titan x is at least £150 or so cheaper

that's the thing i hate about computers...
if i want to get a newer cpu, i need a new mobo, and ram sticks.. and then i need to reinstall windows from scratch because i changed too many components...

Why do you need a titan x?

when i can get the titan x for a good price i can start my race/space sim build with htc vive and 3 gsync 4k monitors ive saved up almost 6 grand to spend on a monster pc and im just waitign for prices to drop seeing as hydrolic pedals for racewheels, speedo revcounters and flight controls arent cheap

Are you sure you want a Titan X? It's a productivity card and you will be paying for extra features that you won't use if you are just gonna game with it. If you want to stick with NVidia then the GTX 1080 ti's shouldn't be far off.
