I managed to guess my 14 year old password and thought I should visit again.

The hacking is not "needed", but what has been released on the 3DS is pretty amazing. To sum things up, we have a boot exploit, we can run GBA (and soon DS/DSi) games natively, install *a lot* of emulators, pirate 3DS games directly from the console (even directly from the eShop!), change the console's region, backup the games' saves, stream the 3DS screens to a PC, use the 3DS as a PC controller (or a PC controller to control the 3DS), and much, much more

That sounds interesting and very tempting, but I'm still way too lazy to do these things, lol.

Thats good, and works on multiple levels. You registered in 2002 and Gbatemp is weird.

Back in 2002 the forum was created for GBA ROM download and release news.
there's no more ROM or any illegal file sharing here, only homebrew/hacking release information and even official game reviews from big companies.

You don't "have" to be a pirate to read and post on GBAtemp, there are a lot of legit (non hacking related) information and topics you can participate in.
