I can launch it fine from HBL, but when I try to install the shuffle themes, it gives me a 696 string error.

If you are using sysnand with 9lh CFW why are you installing menuhax?

Menuhax is only for loading Homebrew on boot if you are not running a9lh or CFW. Is to access homebrew loader without browser hax or game eploit faster. You can just install the cia homebrew loader on the system


USe the menuhax to remove the Menuhax and try again.

Menuhax has nothing to do with custom themes.

It patches the theme data, so it can run the homebrew loader from boot, (About the same time system menu loads) It loads at boot to allow booting directly into homebrew loader (BOOT.3DSX) file on the sd card. Without the system menu, that is the only purpose it serves. If you already have a9lh CFW installed you don't need this. Is for people who have official FW or emunand. Just use homebrew loader cia if you want to load homebrew.

Left an update to Looping Audio Converter program that fixes the problem of shuffle mode. It creates a bgm file with a function that forces the operation of the repeat loop.
Version 1.3.1- https://github.com/libertyernie/LoopingAudioConverter/releases/
I put 10 themes with songs over 1:30 minutes and all repeat loops worked.
You have to mark the call option - Force start-to-end loop

The last theme I created I used this update and the music was no error in the shuffle mode.

The file encoder now is identical to the encoder of Nintendo.
Ie any compatibility problem disappeared.

This process that I spoke up and fix the error on the BGM file repeat loop. If you have installed on your 3ds CHMM2 and use this program I talked to fix the music file will repeat the loop function in shuffle mode.
No matter the version of your FW so you have to have the CHMM2 running on your 3DS.

hello guys, I got a problem when trying to install Shuffle Themes on a9lhax+luma3DS new3DS.
currently I'm using newest CHMM2.8 from rinnegatamante website.

The problem is every time I try to install shuffle themes, CHMM2.8 always return with "error: [string "?"]:696: error opening file". But, I got no problem when setting a single theme.
please, any fix for it?

Maybe try setting the theme at home menu to default and clearly any saved or shuffle themes there before trying.

I got my homemenu theme as default. and I got no saved shuffle theme on homemenu.

I can't even get the thing to work, every time i hit r button for online, it crashes with error.
I'm using 2.8 by the way, i will try other versions to make sure.

I have the 2.8 version, I haven't had a problem on download and see previews, migh be the region, I don't know

I dunno either, i been blaming the website, I can't even access it on my wii u or 3ds, is nintendo biased or something. every time i insert the url it does nothing, but it works fine on PC or andorid devices.

Somehow i feel that some clue to why it isn't working for me. But i wouldn't know how to fix it at all.
