Original DragonBall is pretty good, it's a typical shounen adventure show. If you like comedy or martial arts, it should be up your alley. DBZ, the sequel, should be watched in the form of the remake, Dragon Ball Z Kai. (It cuts out the filler) The story in it is a bit more action-y and dramatic than DB, so it comes down to taste. I don't do this normally, but I'd also recommend the english dub over the japanese cast as well. If you're willing to sit down through 300 episodes of an anime, go for it.

some people don't have good internet connections to binge watch anime, I usually need to download the whole series first (it takes days) then watch it once I am able to find some free time (which I never have thanks to school work).

its an anime that is still airing and apparently doing very good. I keep hearing that since its good once you catch up to the latest, you suffer because you want more episodes.

If you don't wanna bother with prolonged situations, watch dragon ball kai. Is About %60 shorter than the original with more fast paced scenes rescripted voices, and reduced content. Is basically about 100 episodes ending at the 3 important plot point that would be siginificantly faster. But you should watch the original since is how We all watched it back in mid 1995 on toonami weekday afternoon

powering up, fighting, and talking. the whole 5 minute thing was actually a miscalculation of the villan expectation for something to happen and everybody then assumed it was 5 minutes duration fight when its actually more.
