Hi,

I'm currently buying new R4 card from nds-cards.com and came across few cards. Since they are almost identical with the price, can someone explain me difference between following cards:

1)r4i sdhc gold pro 2016
2)r4i sdhc dual core 2016
3)r4i sdhc rts lite 2016
4)r4i sdhc snoopy 2016

Are they all the same and which one should i buy? I'm planning to use it on my old 3ds xl and new 3ds.

they're almost the same, the differences i know:
  • r4i sdhc gold pro 2016 is the original design with new firmware (not thier design it's probably a copy)
  • r4i sdhc dual core 2016 has faster loading times (don't know for sure if it has real time saving though)
  • r4i sdhc rts lite 2016 was meant to be the cheapest version with real time saving option
  • r4i sdhc snoopy 2016 same as the gold (or rts lite i forgot wich one) one just with nice different colours
Kernel and firmware might not be innerchangable, so compitablity might be a bit different

All of the flashcarts with a year printed on them are largely the same, and likely made by the same people. For the same reason, I wouldn't suggest getting any of them, as the kernel for them has an expiry date hardcoded into it, after a year or two the kernel stops working until they release an update or you turn the time back on the 3DS. Once they stop releasing updates you'll be stuck with constantly setting the time back just to make the cart work, which messes with time-based events in games.
Get the r4ids.cn R4i Gold, it's a great cart and doesn't have this problem. http://www.nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=149
Yes, they are all the exact same thing, the only issue i do know, if the fake ones, dont allow the use of local multiplayer. i had that issue with the .hk ones. [you can view the site on their logo] as example: www.r4i-sdhc.cn.
avoid the .hk ones, the rest its basically the same.
Off-topic but, you should change your sig, it's way above the maximum limit (80KB combined between signature and avatar)

Don't get any of those. r4isdhc cards don't work very well from my testing. The cheat system is broken, and the card slowly stops working over time (mine is already failing 1.5 months in, with constant freezing in any game even after formatting SD)
I highly recommend spending an extra $7 USD and getting the r4i Gold card. It seems to be much more reliable and actually work properly.

All recent cards from "r4isdhc.com" are the same.

NDS-card has a great $9 card labeled "r4isdhc.com.cn", it runs Wood 1.62 and it doesn't have any time limit. No RTS but you may not care about that.

had the http://www.r4isdhc.com version and it's still working with beta fw from the forum there (there's no timebomb on the beta versions), and the wood is acekard2i compitable (though i had the 2014 version), so no reason it would ever stop in my opinion...

one thing is certain, if the site is still in the christmass spirit or something alike don't buy thier product! since those sites are not fixing thier bugs anymore, and they most likely still have a timebomv in thier software.
