Well, gang, I'm looking through New Super Mario Bros. Wii U with TCPGecko [NTSC-U/ARPE01], and I haven't the faintest idea on which offset to start. Nothing seems to be moving or changing, and I'm looking for where the Timer might be located.

Nope, my code only functions on Slot 1.
If you do find a pointer for it, consider posting it here: http://wiiucodes.tk/codes.php?id=0005000010145c00

Yeah, it is different for each game. At least it has to be around 10000000 - 49000000. Sadly I don't have the game, so I don't know the exact range to look in.

Alright, then. By the way, Tommy, I noticed the "Length" Feature, but when I click the Search icon, all it does is freeze up TCPGecko. Is that common or something?

I am not exactly sure what you are referring to. But I can tell you that I have suffered from random freezes from TCPGecko. But it does not happen often.

I'm talking about where the arrow is in TCPGecko. Here's a snapshot:

Oh! I never used that before. Never really had a need to use it, to be honest (I don't even know what it does). Also, that does not look like TCPGecko, but rather JGecko. The search function on TCPGecko is all that I use to find the values that I need.

lol who wud publicly release their own codes XD not me thats for sure
I actually enjoy the idea of people being able to enjoy their game with my cheat code (not online of course). It is part of the reason why I invested my time in making Super Mario 3D World Cheat Codes. It also the same reason why I got bored of making cheat codes for Mario Kart 8 since I can't share my codes at all.

I see what you mean. purely offline codes i would be more inclined to sharing, but online, never.

Well... I did find some values in NSMB Wii U that changes at random, right around 0x112EC9C2, but what makes the process of making a timer modification code a pain is that in JGecko, you're only allowed to look at a very small list of offsets. E.g., 0x10000000 - 0x100003F0. You have to type in 10000400 in the address bar. It stops at 0x100007F0 and you gotta type in 0x10000800... rinse and repeat.

You should use Gecko dotNET to find your cheat codes. Currently, JGecko does not have a search function implemented (I can't wait for that to be implemented in the future, I hate using my Surface 3).

That could be changed quite easily though. I just took 400 bytes to avoid multiple read requests to be sent to the Wii U :P

Thanks, but I dunno what files open Gecko dotNET.

Update: Never mind, I found the application.

I would use TCPGecko dotNET; problem is, I can't get the bloody thing to connect. I can only get JGecko to connect... and yes, I've tried the steps to get TCPGecko to connect.

I personally have to disable Avast to get it to connect, it seems like anti-virus messes things up.

Gonna share one of the codes I've been working on for Super Mario 3D World [NTSC-U]. I've got the pointer for Mario's hands, eye, and face, but can't seem to find the head like with @CosmoCortney 's Cat Mario code. Anyone know of where it is?

I can't get cheat codes to work.

So, I have the Homebrew Launcher v1.2 RC3 from here and TCP Gecko v1.1 from here (Although I've tried the one provided in the OP) extracted to my SD card. I launched the Homebrew Launcher from loadiine.ovh, and from there I launched TCP Gecko.

After pressing X, I booted up Mario Kart 8, and then JGecko U. I added this region free cheat code:
Always 10 Coins [Bully@WiiPlaza|moops44|wingedkoopa67]
00220000 3F2E403C
10000000 50000000
00000230 00000000
10000000 50000000
00000040 0000000A
However, when I try sending the code after starting a time trial, nothing happens.

Awesome, I couldn't find partial size modifiers!
Well, I have found them somewhere in the 38000000 - 40000000 range. Don't remember where exactly.
The game is really odd btw. Couldn't find a valid pointer to be working with every level. The pointer locations also vary from console to console even on the same (which is really odd). So I thought trying to make such codes for every level.
There is a discord chat of SM3DW hacking where I am also active sometimes. But lost interest since barely was sharing the required RAM dumps.

btw, the codetypes will be improved soon. I'm working on changing the pointer thing which would allow us "save" a pointer so we won't need to load it for every single cheat and we will be able to use an infinite depth of pointer levels :)
but don't expect a release anytime soon because I'm busy for quite some time :/

Well, I got TCPGecko working. Still not sure where the timer is, but I don't think it's in the 0x10000000 section, and the guy was right, you'd have to disable Avast! to get TCPGecko dotNET working.

Are you also going to consider to add a button activator? It would be great if the cheat codes would activate when I press A, even if I were to press X or Y at the same time.

Would you be willing to post a link to there, or is it private?

Also sorry @CosmoCortney, just one more question! Earlier I posted a question about having trouble making a moonjump code with pointers. I was, however, aable to do it without a pointer. If you have time, would you be able to tell me what I am doing wrong? Here is a quote to my previous
So I am starting to understand how the Load Float and Store Float works. I was able to make a moon jump test code without a pointer, but when I applied the pointer to the code, it does not work at all. I checked with the Watch List and even used the RAM Write value and the pointer works fine (the exception being the world map). This is for Super Mario 3D World (NTSC-U).

This is the code that actually works
Only Press A to Moon Jump {Only works on World (Fire Flower) - 9: Towering Sunshine Seaside with Rosalina} [CuriousTommy]

15040000 41C80000
13020000 3D58E1EC
D0000000 DEADCAFE

This code should work, but it does not work for some reason.

Did you check 20000000 and above?

Did I do this? Not quite yet, Tommy but I will look into that matter later. I also intend to find the offsets that trigger Mario's forms, much like Super Mario 3D World's case, or something as simple as modifying extra life total.
