So I using ReiNand currently on my 3DS with ThemeHack (to directly boot it)

Is it still up2Date as Custom Firmware or should I get a different one? It seems 11.0.X works like a charm there, so I woundering, if I may should swap the CFW or stay at ReiNand.

Kind of.

I would upgrade to Luma3DS, though.

The author of that cfw seems to be moving on to other things (long story).
The fork of it, luma3ds, is more up-to-date. I recommend it.

Don't use a boot manager.
Use rather luma3ds' own boot.3dsx to boot it directly, which is more efficient
That's if you want to lose access to any of the other tools. Which some people don't care for, but my guide makes the assumption people would prefer them, and the bootmanager attempts on it's own to also improve bootrates.

But whatever.

what other tools?
the homebrew launcher?
In my opinion, a newcomer/hacking noob would be better suited without it, or rather just launching homebrew with the homebrew launcher loader.
Buyt that's just my opinion :P

Pathchanger is only for A9LH users. Those who use MenuHax don't have that issue. I run Smash and other big-ram mode games just fine on my "menuhax test" 3ds just fine.

yes, using the boot.3dsx in the "menuhax" folder for Luma3DS is a poor idea imo. you can't use the homebrew launcher at all. I would suggest boot manager (CTRBootManager etc) in any case.

path changer is only necessary for arm9loaderhax...

whoops sorry, my mistake!

Yeah, so I guess if OP wants easy access to homebrew launcher, use the boot manager!
If you're not that interested, go with the boot.3dsx

Latest stable version of ReiNAND is from May 17th and latest stable of Luma is May 27th. I wouldn't call that a lack of support.
Comparing the commit has no sense either because of the difference of features and team size.

So no, ReiNAND is not dead. It's a good alternative to Luma especially if you don't need all Luma's features.
