Do you think this machine will ever get close to emulating wii u at 100% speeds
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 @2.66ghz
6GB DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GT 630 rev. 2 - 2GB RAM
Display resolution: 1024x1020
It seems you're underestimating Cemu
Cemu is more demanding than Dolphin simply because WiiU is much more powerful than the Wii . Core 2 Quad is slow for most Wii games , 2times slower than any Pentium / i3 Haswell in Dolphin .
If it does not perform well in Dolphin ,how could you think it would run Cemu at 100% speed ?
To be honest , I'm not even sure my Haswell G3258 @ 4.6GHz can handle Cemu in the future . Higher compatibility is likely lower performance

I have i7 920@ 3.8GHz and GTX 960 strix but with mario kart 8 i have only 30 40fps, why?
old cpu?
Yep , I can get 45-60FPS in grand prix mode with a mobile CPU : i7 4700MQ @ 3.4GHz (OCed)
Make sure you're using Windows 10 x64 not Windows 7 x64 , dx12 is a lot faster than dx11
If you can , just upgrade to i7 6700k or i5 6600k, you won't complain about poor performance anymore

sorry..
as far as i know..
correct me if im wrong...
cemu is only using "OPEN GL"
so.. i think.. using windows10 x64 with directx12 will not affect cemu performance..

Really ? I probably heard it wrong then . Decaf , Dolphin , Rpcs3 support DX12 and got 60% improvement (depending on the game) , there is no reason for not having dx12 back end in Cemu

That doesn't really mean anything, laptop's CPU are the weakest in the world. It can be also an i7 but if it's an U series it performs like an old desktop CPU. However, I think that MAYBE one day you will run the emulator at 99%. Oh, also, why the heck the resolution is so low?! 1024x1020?!

he's running a 10 year old cpu and a $30 gpu. Cemu will never be optimised enough to run on garbage.

Who said that ?
It was mentioned before, Exzap is using OpenGL for now because he want's to port it to linux and mac. I would quote where it was said but I'm tired and can't go through these pages to look for it.

Who said that ?
Quoted from FAQ:
Will other platforms besides Windows be supported?
Multi-platform support is planned and so far many development decisions have been in favor of supporting multiple platforms. (E.g. choosing OpenGL over DirectX for rendering) But currently there thousands of other little things that need to be done before work on ports can start.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
