I just found my old Supercard DS One (without the "i") from the DS Lite times, and I wondered if I could make it run on my A9LH Luma N3DS XL. It doesnt want to run on either my DSi XL or my N3DS when I just stick it in. Is it even possible? Thanks in advance!

Perhaps read the thread first. And read up on the latest firmware and updates for the DS One. I found all you need to know within 5 minutes, using this thing called google.
I installed the latest firmware, but its still locked to DSi XL 1.4.5, or 3DS 4.4. And no, I didnt read the thred first, maybe should've done that.

Erm... I don't know what the guys above are talking about, but the DSOne never worked on the DSi nor 3DS, so the whitelist thing wouldn't do anything. I know Apache Thunder was making some custom DSiWare launchers for flashcards that never worked on the 3DS, but I don't recall his DSOne solution working at the time I tried it. I would personally just recommend buying a cheap 3DS-compatible R4 if you're desperate for DS games.

I want, but I dont know which one, or where to get them. I just want to play DS games, as there is no (playable) emulator yet.

That thread contains all the information you need.
I also have a supercard DS one hcsd edition and can confirm that it works.
I'm on 11.0 FW running luma CFW via a9lh.

I think the SDHC is a different model to the normal DSOne. It appears they have different files on Supercard's site anyway. I'd assume if they tried it and it didn't work, it'd be down to that. If not, I guess I stand corrected and apologise. All I recall is my DSOne never working on the DSi, nor 3DS.

Im starting to think I am retarded. I cant find the CIA that lets you run old flashcards, and I have no Idea what a CIA forwarder is. pls send help
A CIA forwarders lets you run ds games from the home menu. These forwarder CIA files will send code to compatible flashcarts like the dsone to tell them what game to launch.

Personally, if you have a nds flash card that works, I don't see the need for having CIA forwarding.
The supercard DSONE has a great menu.
I don't know why people want to clutter their home menu with more icons.

Well the fact is that the DSone is blocked on the 3ds and Dsi so it will not work without a forwarder

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
but why choose it over ysmenu @Psionic Roshambo?

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
