Guys, for right now this isn't a CFW, just a glorified a9lh implementation.

Though recently Wolfvak made his CFW, KGB, able to work as a stage2 payload on its own: https://github.com/Wolfvak/KGB/tree/stage2

This is effectively what ShadowNAND wants to do, but KGB is o3ds only and contains very few patches.

I have an old3DS! The only thing preventing me from installing this right now, is the lack of release and clear instructions.
For now, I just installed ShadowNAND. Why? Because now I play the waiting game. It doesn't effect my current CFW, so that is ok with me.

Nice, perhaps it could help for ShadowNAND, however, @Shadowhand said that he probably may release ShadowNAND's CFW tomorrow or in 2 days.

That's because this is still very alpha software. Basically you compile the stage2 payload using the instructions in the readme, then use a modified safea9lhinstaller (although I haven't tested it yet the ShadowNAND installer should work?) using this as the alt stage2.

I am honestly not willing to risk my 3DS with an early alpha build that effects my NAND. Just because I know what I am doing, doesn't mean I should trust myself with something I can't afford to replace.

Hah, fair enough :P. As long as you only use it as an altstage2 everything should be fine, but it's 100% understandable to not want to risk it.

In the mean time this is off topic for this thread, I just wanted to point out to people that KGB exists.

I am watching both projects. The only thing I am worried about is that using these projects could make it like the PSP, where you can only use one CFW. I don't want to lose my 6 CFWs!
Especially not Corbenik!

The nice part about having this as an altstage2 is that your main stage2 will still boot the arm9loaderhax.bin on your SD card, but by holding a key combo at boot you can boot from the altstage2.

I will not be releasing ShadowNAND in a day or two. I will just be creating an official thread so the misconceptions clear up, and I want to see what people care about in a CFW.

i have a luma3ds a9lh o3ds and i dont have my otp.bin. i deleted it after i had installed a9lh.
any ideas? what should i do to switch to shadownand?
If you feel like you will be messing with stage2 in the future (that includes installing stage2 cfws such as future ShadowNAND), I would recommend installing it, as it will help if something goes wrong when installing future ShadowNAND. If you want to get your otp back, restore an old backup with no a9lh, follow plailects guide and downgrade to 2.1 and get your otp again. Then just restore your sysnand backup.
