If you don't use a modified rom or illegal pokemons, i see no problem.
They can't detect if you are using a CFW.

Nope,I don't think they'll notice an A9LHaxed 3DS if you don't have any bootanim or splashes... :P
EDIT:and anyway no. They could ban you only because of hacked pokemon or illegal stuff

just don't be stupid and accidentally launch homebrew, or have a custom theme, or weird icons on your home menu..
neither brag to other people that you got hax or something, they will snitch..
luma (and a9lh) is really silent.. if you choose to, it looks like a standarn console..

PS. dont forget to go to luma settings and remove displaying the NAND..
if someone will check your firmware version they may find it odd that it displains SYS or EMU on it..

REGIONALS = real life place event? i mean you will go to a place and have to fight people there face to face, right?

Turn off screen init and make sure anything you use passes PKHeX.

This is a big one, somebody will notice extra screen flashes when booting up.

an issue is see is if you are told to bootup holding select to check for a CFW like Luma that uses select for the config menu.

Heh, what if they require everyone to take out their SD cards for inspection on a computer?
Judges don't have the right they can only physically check if someone accuses or the judge itself suspects you of cheating, worlds however is a different story.

actually, the proper way to check is to boot without an SD Card in. this will detect ALL A9LH users and is not avoidable unless someone can find a way to boot a CFW by storing it on the NAND itself.

Another thing is make sure none of the pokemon you are using have 510 EV's most people forget the 508 is the real max.

I simply bring a normal 3DS with a cartridge to be used with JKSV temporarily.

The safest method (pretty much 100% undetectable unless the console is opened) is to hardmod (with an internal connector that requires opening the battery cover and battery panel to get to it) then flash a non A9LH NAND backup first.
