Homebrew Cannot change IV of pokemon?

I exported my save with JK's save manager. I'm using PKHex to max out my IVs. But after exporting the save, the IVs go back to where they were before. Does anyone know how to fix this, or know the problem?

It might sound stupid, but did you import the save file after editing it?

I did not import it yet. I re-dragged it back to pkhex just to check if the changes were saved, which it didn't.

did you export to main and save it in the same spot as your extracted save?

oh wait, I think I know what's up. after editing the ivs, did you right click and select "set" where the edited pokemon is? otherwise none of your edits are saved and the pokemon will stay the way it is.
