Is there a link to a custom build for pokemon to work on?

No , none of the builds get the game working , neither pokemon x & Y nor pokemon oras playable on citra , it still have blackscreens error even the random crash or freeze seems like had been fixed :D But , if you wish to test the game , i think you may find several builds on this forum in pages between 180 - 195 , if not try find the custom build in emuland or other websites.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

So I've tried emulating Picross 3D 2 (Rittai Piccross 2).
The most recent nightly Win x64 build can't boot it.
It keeps getting this error: HW.Memory <error> core\memory.cpp::READ181: unmapped Read8 @ 0x10002001

An earlier compile I had found on here could successfully boot it though.
Sadly it can't get past file select, since looped buffers are currently not supported in DSP.
You don't get any music on the title screen, you only get some sound effects on inputs.

At the very least though, the file select can display some of the puzzles you've solved, including the Kirby series amiibo puzzles.
Citra does not render the crown stamps on the file select properly, they're meant to be solid green/cyan, but have been rendered with linear lighting and inverted hues.

Is okay we don't understand, maybe that is unrelated to citra user like us. I just curious about the pictures that is why i ask him whether know about programming ,since he able to explain something on it,maybe there are clues for us to fix the citra build problem

As I said few pages ago, let's wait till MerryMage update the audio once again. We all know that the audio is responsible of fixing the errors of other games.

So, does anyone know of a builds that has gsnewrefactor(think this is what makes the special effects in Pokemon show), the random freeze fix, the screen layout changer. and one with Forced filtering? I think thats all I need to make replay videos of Pokemon.

i am truly sorry for the inconvieniece i will not repeat it again just forgive me
i am really sorry

Lol, came across this when I was searching for a build. Dude. Don't apologize for this stuff. It's a forum, some people think they're God's because they can follow a guide on how to compile, 99.9% of these guys aren't actually developing anything useful.

I'm blocking people asking about Pokémon games on Citra in my channel, it's really boring how these guys keep on repeating the same questions and comments over and over again

So of the likely 2.5 people who bother watching your channel, you are caused a tremendous amount of trauma and inconvenience by those asking about the most popular game on a platform you are demonstrating? Post a video and be expected to get asked about it. Your kind which pretends that their time is actually worth anything sickens me.

Well. He was spamming the same questions that is literary specific to answer.

More likely, people think that when they see a sped up video or a Livestream of a WIP Emulator, they thought that it is 100% complete. Mostly, people thought that emulators will be release once it's 100% done and not just showing Open-Source or releasing Beta versions(Nightly Build) in the first place. Some would say "I thought the emulator is finish. I mean, I can see Pokemon playing alright", "The emulator is complete?", or "Better to release a stable version first instead of releasing broken builds".

Therefore, most people just never learn to shut their mouth or be patient. This is one problem that people have. Patience and we are living in a world of impatient, stubborn, and lack of self-discipline. Same goes to other emulators like Cemu and Dolphin(back in the early 2000s as a Gamecube Emulator).

Not only people repeating themselves to death the same questions (even on videos that are not even Pokémon related). I ALWAYS explain about every update in the code and always made clear that I test every single game with the release of a new public build, so when these guys keep on flooding the videos with questions that I've already answered in the description AND the video itself, this is something that really annoying for those who want to talk about the emulation instead. I'm blocking them because it's counterproductive answering the same question over and over again (they don't even READ when you answer most of the time, too), nothing against the game or the players, just to keep the spam away.

And this is why I NEVER speed up my tests. It's better to upload a larger file than keeping the risk of someone thinking "Oh boy, it's working so fast !"

Well. He was spamming the same questions that is literary specific to answer.

My point is we were all noobs at one point. He was puzzled by something peculiar. It is weird how the whole game works in ORAS apart from one city. He pointed out that it was the same issue with the new build. As far as I've read nobody simply said it was unknown, or what the build was supposed to help with. A guy called Leo could have saved himself 3 seconds by saying it is unknown or by explaining in a word or 2 the significance of his post, instead of a typical sarcastic remark of a forum dweller. Then apparently someone else started complaining.

Sure I agree with you, patience is a virtue, and if someone clearly says on their video that it is sped up, far from being complete...etc, then sure it's okay for them not to answer, but on a forum with people of at least basic knowledge, it's not taboo to point out that a new build hasn't fixed a certain problem, since this problem is with the most popular game on the console, and the build-maker was unclear as to what it will and will not fix. Just mentioned a feature which's significance he himself is unsure of.

Well for me, I always place the sped up like in every video that I have(except for comparisons). But most of them just kept saying "Is it sped up" when it's literally in the video. People just don't know how to watch a video properly and ends up commenting stupid comments that are actually specific to be found.

For example: "Where to find msvcp140.dll"
The answer is pretty simple to look. Just google it.

The 2nd problem is that most people who doesn't have Nintendo Support or products in their place wanted to play because Nintendo doesn't have support in all countries(like Miitomo which is available in only 16 countries) and cannot buy a 2nd hand online.

You have a point there. I just got pissed as I found it in bad taste that you posted that as a follow-up to the other guy complaining about the newcomer asking about his mystery build.

The honest truth is that most people who are interested in Citra are kids from 3rd world countries where the 3DS isn't even possible to purchase. They also have poor computer/internet knowledge to know which websites give you that .dll you want and which will just give you an installer to yet another toolbar. Obviously since I'm Libyan I have a lot of sympathy to those people, because it's how I started, lol.

Not at all, although I'm a fairly competent software tester.
It's all up to the Citra developers to look at what they've been committing to their branches or their master, and see if they've introduced regressions.

Since a lot of the significant development occurs off-master, and it's not straight forward to build Citra, it limits what I can test.
The build I used to boot Picross 3D 2 was from a different development branch and I don't know what it was.
Chances are whatever development is going on in other branches is increasing compatibility but hasn't been pushed to master yet.

  • If I am a God, then thou shalt be a demigod :P.
  • I'm not a developer or programmer. I know it's not much but I try to report as much issues as I can on Citra's github. And you?

I speak genuinely instead of throwing an attitude and pretending to be my internet alter-ego Leon Kennedy. :D
