well if you brick you can fix your 3ds with a hard mod but if some thing else happens such as the screen cracking you would need to send it into nintedo and they will propbley refuse to fix a hard-modded 3ds and you will have to get a new 3ds which is more expensive then getting it fixed

If you are capable of hardmodding your 3DS, then I think you should be also capable to order some repair parts and do those things yourself. So no need to send the console to nintendo, ever. Even if you did not do the hardmod yourself - as well as there are people out there capable to hardmod your console for you, there will be people out that are gonna repair it for you at a fair price I think.

ikr stating the obvious.

i'll add to the thread, if your system is hard modded you can't trade it into Gamestop for a nickel and a pack of gum
Well I don't know about your gamestops but I only see them looking at it from the outside doing some software checking and then formatting it after knowing everything works and you put everything they wanted. (Charger etc)
Then they clean it and store it away.
So unless your 3DS looks shitty or you told them it was hardmodded they will take it.
So if you have an "under the hood" hardmod they will take it since they don't open it up.

But hey you are better off not giving it to gamestop anyway. People will pay more for a hardmodded 3ds if you sell it to the correct ppl than gamestop would ever give you.
(Also I know some Gamestop workers who would gladly buy a hardmodded 3DS off you)

Gamestop CLEANS things?
Erm... i doubt that.
Sometimes it seems they make more profit from the GUNK they sell then from the consoles themselves.
Things at flea markets are usually cleaner.

I personally enjoy PSAs like this.
Like the ones i read the other day: "Don't throw your console against a brick wall, it might break!" or "Frying burgers on your PS4 might make it greasy!".
Without posts like this, how would i ever know what to do?
I personally think burgers fried on my PS4 taste the best. And it is very convenient doing so while gaming. I never have to heat up my pens since my PS4 already is heated up. It is very economic. And if you do it right you don't really have those problems with the ps4 becoming greasy.

As I said.
I don't know about YOUR gamestops.
But here they very well do.
They check if you brought everything, they look at it. Start it up. Format it. Clean it and store it away.

Have you ever noticed how burgers fried on those limited edition consoles somehow just tastes much meatier?

Damn I thought that was just me. But when we did this at a friends house I said it tasted a lot better on my limited edition one. He said that wasn't the case. Great that I am not just dumb and it's a thing.
I knew it...

Here is some more advice.. you want some REAL heat to fry up those puppies?
Try getting an original Xbox 360. That will fry up those burgers REAL nice.

if you ask a gamestore like eb/gamestop about hacking your 3ds what do they say has any one asked them

Well, i can only speak from my own experiences.
I asked about consoles with certain serial numbers and an employee asked if those were hackable, i said yes.
He then gave me two of those and took two for himself.

Uhm well I explained shit to him and am his source for 3DS news more or less.
He even called me once because a guy asked about hacked amiibos and I should get over there.
So they are cool with it at my place.
They even gave me serials when I asked them to get the console Version before.

Also had discussions about valid flash cards before.

Yeah, i had the exact same experience. People who work in stores are usually gamers, too after all.
